Introducing a system where you will need to do certain actions to gain SP.
No automatic SP each game. No afk farming. SP is rewarded only to those who fight the fight.
There will be many different events in game that will reward SP.
E.g.
Target acquisition (enemy appearing on radar) (shared with team): 50 SP per red dot acquired
Target acquisition with active scanner: 100 SP per target
Battlefield transverse: 1 SP per metre
Deploying items: 200 SP
Killing enemy: 500 SP
Assist killing: 250 SP
Killing enemy from behind: 750 SP
Killing enemy (head shot): 750 SP
Reviving teammate: 1000 SP
Hacking target: 2000 SP
etc etc etc

I like the direction, but I see a major problem with hacking being worth that much. With FW allowing you to rig both sides of the Battlefield I see way way to many 50,000SP matches under this system. |

Also, all they need to do is remove the 5 SP/s, and just increase the SP earned from doing WP actions. |

I could earn so much sp from that battlefield traverse, let's think for a minute.
Most maps are somewhere close to a Km long, a dropship can cover that distance easily in about 15-30 seconds. A turn around and flying back the other way would take a similar timespan, that's close to 2000sp in under a minute, considering that most skirmishes last around 30 minutes, we're talking around 60k sp a match, for flying up and down the map doing nothing. |

To help DUST bunnies that are trying, but aren't even earning kill assists, what about something like 1 SP for every 5 rounds that strike an enemy? That encourages them to venture out into harm, and to try to kill. |

I like where you're going with this, but those SP reward values need to be lowered.
I had a game just the other day where I went 41:8, that's over 20,000 SP just from kills alone, assuming that none of them where from behind. |

Grats thinking up this solution that has been thrown out on the forums 100 times. Minus one for not understanding systems like this screw over new players. Please remember that new players are the most important players. That's right newbs are more important than you or I. Now, come up with a system that works for them. |

You can probably get the best of both worlds.
Have a base SP influenced by time at risk (not afk). Loser noobs can still get enough SP to get into the lower parts of the skill tree as they are learning to play.
Have a bonus SP influenced by your percentage of valuable actions. This might include killing an opponent, damaging an opponent, stopping a hack in progress (so you aren't given an incentive to let it complete), killing an enemy hacker, scoping out otherwise hidden players (spotting), healing, repairing, etc, etc.
Now, by influenced, I suggest that the ranking determines the split, so you don't earn X SP per action, but your rank decides you payout of the bonus -- so it really matters. |
