Instead of killing him mercilessly, I got my squad to stop shooting him and then gave him my tank. We spent the rest of the round running around in LAVs giving him stuff to shoot at. Afterwards, I sent him a squad invite and this was his response: "I don't play often enough to matter" It broke my heart that this is how new players feel.

Then it would explain why he had trouble aiming at stationary targets
