As this is my first new build would this be a good plan?
Plus have we any idea the size / download times involved?
Thanks for any response in advance.

I've been here since the start of closed beta(stupid weekend only events...) and I've had issues every time I don't redownload the client, so I am going to download afresh |

I suggest simply deleting the client and leaving it at that. |

Breaks My estimate is 3-6 GB so it should take a couple of hours to download depending on your internet speed. |

Will the update be live on the patch servers before the client is updated on the PSN? Or do they do that simultaneously?

Why would you do this?
(Just want to know if its faster)
But if you think it is, try do it before Tuesday, thats when PSN gets slowed down with download traffic because of the new store update. |

If you delete the client and download it from the store, you can download it in the background and use your PS3 for other things. If you choose to update the game, you will have to leave it on that screen until it is done. |

It is a good idea to delete this build since each one is roughly around 2 gb which is a lot o space and can get in the way of getting big updates for other games. |

I've been here since the closed beta and each update has been just fine with me so imo you do not need to delete and re-download the client. |

I've been here since E3.
Early in Chromosome, I deleted and reinstalled the client, and shaved a little over 0.5GB from the total filesize by doing so.
Not sure if that will be worth the effort for you, and not sure how big a difference it will make in Uprising, but it's possible you might free up some space by starting from scratch. It's definitely not going to make a big difference either way. |

Absolutely!
Deleting the closed beta and redownloading the open beta build fresh resolved a lot of issues for me with lagginess.
It also shaved 6GB off the needed space going from an 8GB install to a 2GB install
For that reason alone it was worth it. |

It would be useful to know when (or if) the new build will be uploaded to PSN. Would this be on Monday when the patch goes live, or on Tuesday when the PSN store is normally updated? |

That's a good point. It might actually be better to just patch, and delete/reinstall when you verify it's on the PSN. We all know how tone deaf sony is to anything regarding schedules or releases. It would be a horrible fate to delete the old build and have to wait an extra day because sony didn't deliver. And you just know they won't deliver. |

Never thought of that. Fine point, I shall wait till the 14th to fresh install I think. |

Breaks I would recommend deleting the client and doing a fresh download just to be safe. Many of the games I've played in the beta phase have had no patch to the live client to avoid errors carrying over. |
