Why do teammates destroy turret installations near our edge of the map? Especially right at the start of the match? I've rarely seen enemy using turrets near our edge. And if they do, they're normally quickly taken care of anyway. I've seen teammates destroy turrets right next to our edge. It seems incredibly unlikely the enemy will ever use those against us. But we could still use it against them, if it weren't destroyed. |

They're my favorite counter-sniping solution. I've used railguns to kill 5 snipers in a match before. Eventually they get upset enough to make a special run to kill my turret. I've also liked turrets when there's a big battle for a null cannon near our edge of the map. A fun way to injure or kill the enemy.
The "tank" concern seems overblown.
I've never seen a turret near our edge stay red for long, if it ever even turns at all. Yes, moving towards the middle they get hacked, and I rarely see friendlies using them to any good effect, so destroy those.
And blue tanks I see are either not near our edge, so your own turret couldn't hit them anyway. Or they're driving around enough that your own turret would get few or no opportunties to shoot.
I guess if you're a railgun tank sniping from our edge, if you're in view of our own turrets, then that would be a concern. |

If you can stay out of a turret's line of sight it might not be a problem, but the railguns can look over a large portion of the field. Interesting. Although I can tell you from having tried a bunch of turrets, many of them have extremely limited view. In many cases no useful view at all. Most of them that have any view at all, can only see about 10% of the field, plus maybe a few structures that are so far away that even the railgun can't hurt them. |
