A nerf of some type is needed. I just dont think the one that is in place now is the solution. The range and damage nerf is more than enough. Either one or the other should be put in place .
- Keep the range but reduce the damage
OR
- Keep the damage and reduce the range
OR
- keep the range and damage but reduce the damage the further the bullet travels
OR

ARs were nerfed alongside it (sharpshooter). Forcing everyone to have to be within a closer range to deal optimal damage but implementing larger maps means vehicles will shine. Corporations will want talented vehicle pilots/drivers to get their squads around into positions close to the enemies, but safe from sniper fire.
By closing the distance between 'front lines', so to speak, it also forces tankers (who're saying tanks have been forced to become redline camping glass cannons) to get closer or risk blowing up their own team with their railguns.
It'll definitely be interesting to see how events turn out come Monday, and the 14th. |

Thats really where the problem lies (the range issue) . Currently the maps are to small, so CCP is having to nerf range because there isnt much room to run. If they at least open the boundaries up people will want to explore |

It'll definitely be interesting to see how events turn out come Monday, and the 14th. But HMGs lost their sharpshooter bonus as well, so is it really a nerf? |

You know what? I'll keep using the HMG. Why? Because it's loud and I like how it sounds, even if it signifies nothing. I will die, but it won't be quietly. |

Amarr sentinal has 4 low slots. You might be a lumbering giant, but 4 armor plates and a dedicated logi will make you fearsome indeed |

It'll definitely be interesting to see how events turn out come Monday, and the 14th. Don't be fooled. ARs lost their range but the sharpshooter skill is a damage buff essentially because their weapon will have even less recoil than before. Now they can spray and pray and those damage mod stacked shots are really going to hit their mark. |

Assuming the percentages are the same as this build: Assault Rifle lvl 5 = -25% Dispersion and Kick Assault Rifle Sharpshooter lvl 5 = -25% Kick Assault rifle Sharpshooter Proficiency lvl 5 = -15% Dispersion and Kick
So that's (-25%*25%)-15% recoil on a gun that was originally nerfed to have more recoil in the first place. Welcome to AR 514. |

Time for squads of heavies and logis to be dropped in together right on an objective. Teamwork can still make the heavy work. It has to, because it's all we heavies have left. We need APCs (SOONtm, LAVs in the meantime) and dropships to help us crash parties now more than ever.

I'm actually quite proficient at timing areal drops for my squad with my ship, I often have them land literally right on an objective as I fly by. |

That's what it will take, too. DS pilots that have it down to a science. With that kind of skill, a heavy's speed is irrelevant. 2000 RPM & 1000+ armor instantly at point blank range backed by logis. Interiors are a different matter. I think assaults should have the responsibility of taking control with heavies sent in to guard it along with a logi. The problem is that WP are everything and not every player is OK with standing at an objective hoping someone tries to take it.
- I daresay that heavies should stay behind (once we get the player counts up) and wait until needed along with their logis and the vehicles to carry them quickly to where they are needed. Again, that's not everyone's cup of tea. |

From the test server: Assault Rifle Operation lvl 5 = -25% kick Assault Rifle Sharpshooter lvl 5 = -25% dispersion That's it. No other skills to reduce kick and dispersion; Sharpshooter Proficiency is gone. Also, we don't know if the weapon rebalance mentioned in the patch notes changed the AR recoil at all; it may have gone up; it may have gone down. Just because the HMG was specifically mentioned, doesn't mean the other weapons weren't tweaked. |

Haha good luck keeping that up when I mow three assaults down in one clip! And with the Amarr Sentinel I'll be a god!! |
