How about instead of: * Sentinel Suit Bonus: 5% reduction to weapon feedback damage per level
We get: *Sentinel Suit Bonus: 10% reduction to Armor plate movement penalty per level
Ehh CCP? C'mon, you'd make us heavies very happy for once.
Yeah, I know, not going to happen |

I don't have a problem with this.
Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with a, "2% reduction to hand-held weapon damage received," per level bonus either. |

Weapon feedback is when a weapon overheats, the user takes damage.
I can be wrong, but I'm 99% sure that's what it means. |

Either add 3% splash damage resistance per level or 5% efficiency of armor plate modules. Keep in mind that CCP is working on new plate types for dropsuits, one of them having no movement penalty. |

CCP, Is it too much to ask for a bonus that's actually useful? |

The thing is, the HMG doesn't deal damage when it overheats, which means that this bonus is basically useless for any heavy weapon on the market right now.
I have a feeling that this is a bonus for something the devs plan to implement at some point in the near future. |

I think the usefulness of the bonus they already have depends a lot on the damage the feedback does at overheat. |

The current bonus is pretty dumb considering none of the current heavy weapons have feedback damage. Even for weapons with feedback damage, its a useless bonus for those who aren't terrible at managing heat buildup. |

It's an Amarr suit so we should take it as a hint from CCP saying "HEAVIES! YOUR GETTING NEW CONTENT!" |

supported, bonuses should be usefull. This is vaugly usefull to just a few people overheating guns, which if you do cause you to die because you are not able to shoot back for forever.
Does overheating cause any damage? I never seen anything like plasma guns in 40k in this game. If you ever overheat a weapon regularly and rely on this skill you are a noob.
logis get a bonus to personal armor repair rate, that helps literally everything.
Something like damage bonus to heavy weapons would defiantly be useful |

I support this as well. Unless there is a Heavy weapon being added that does self damage on overheat, no self-respecting Heavy is gonna use a Laser Rifle when they can mount it on a cheaper, faster suit. Even then, the current bonus, as stated by those above, just puts a damper on the penalty for screwing the pooch. That makes the sentinel, and I'm not trying to be crude here, a noob suit, meant to soften the failures of a new Hoov. If this was a simple Heavy frame, maybe a militia level one, that wouldn't be too bad, but the equivalent suit in other categories, with their bonuses that actually help the combat itself, will murder you before your suit's ability can even apply itself.
And either way, less damage or no, you overheat in battle and you're a dead man. |

+1
There are plenty of other options that other suits are currently using that are way better. Use one of those, like the mentioned armor repair bonus that logis have.
- Adding a bonus for a weapon that won't be implemented for 3 or 6 (or more) months is beyond stupid. I know that CCP is going to put in a heavy gun(s) that does significant damage on overheat thanks to that bonus (big ass laser most likely), but we need suit bonuses that are useful now, not later. I'm dumping the heavy suit, CCP. That is the level to which you have failed. After you get around to that forgotten role, I'll give the heavy frames another look, once all the suits and a couple more heavy weapons are finally added to the game. |
