In part of one of the Q and A sessions I remember somebody asking something like. "If we have more districts being attacked than we can defend, can we hire mercenaries to help?"
the answer was that it is not implemented yet. You would have to organize that yourselves as there is no game mechanic for it.
I thought about how significant of an impact that will have, how helpful it would be to have that mechanic in game. But then we could do it ourselves on the forums to a lesser extent. the only problem would be the no contract honor system way it would have to work....and I think that is where it falls apart.
but the mechanic is needed. Think of how hard it will be for a casual corp to take part without the tools to grow and become more than casual. How much easier if they could at least band together with some sort of aid. we are mercenaries. I want job listings somewhere. |

Yea, maybe someone smarter than me could figure out how to bring accountability into the idea, because til they do something for it in game forums contracts sound scary. |

There are many good ideas here, in the future I can see this as one of the more interesting user created market/meta games. I could see a dust corp making lots with minimal risk if they were good enough, just having a stable of rental mercs.

I started this hoping CCP might open one up for us. A channel would be a sub forum and thankfully we cant start those ourselves, could you imagine? Madness
We could start a thread but even if stickied it would be inadequate for our needs. |
