The dev blog raises several concerns from the player community and the CPM, but then goes on to address only one. It is very confusing.
So Planetary Conquest has been moved to the 14th, excellent, no questions there.
Is that the only change being made? You said one of the concerns raised was the disconnection of skill reset and release of "new content(weapons, dropsuits, etc)". First you previsously told us that the dropsuits and weapons would be getting released at different times. Lumping them together in that sentence is very very confusing. If you don't plan to change the plan, then that all good, but please just say that.
The plan is no longer clear based on this dev blog. I'm sure everyone will want to know the answer to these three questions.
1. Is the skill reset still happening on the 6th? 2. Is all the new equipment that was advertised as being part of uprising still being released on the 6th? 2. Are the 3 new weapons advertised as being for the launch of the game still being released on the 14th? |

Klivve Cussler wrote:The way I read it, the only change they've made is that we'll be unable to purchase clone packs until the 14th. All other planned features for the 6th and the 14th remain the same. They're putting the system in place on the 6th, plus the new content that was planned for the 6th, but holding off on actually letting us purchase clone packs and holding districts until the 14th.
And because there can only be one "attack" on a district every 24 hours, the 14th/15th will be taken up with taking unclaimed territory, and the first fight (where one corp attacks a district being held by another corp) will not be until the 16th.
Which should give us plenty of time to figure out which end of a scrambler rifle to use.
I agree that this is the most likely way to interpret the devblog, there is certainly some language that confuses the issue. For example
DEVBlog wrote: The skill point respec happens on May 6th, but new content (weapons, dropsuits, etc.) being released on May 14th leaves players a hard choice: Spend skill points to do good now and miss out on the new items, or save the skill points and risk missing out on the first wave of conquest.
New content, dropsuits, released of the 16th. Confusing.
CCP Please clarify. |

Yes, I realise the context of the quoted paragraph. But the wording was confusing because, as you said, we had previously had no mention of any new dropsuits being released on the 14th. We were told at fanfest that the new dropsuits were coming on the 6th with the rest of the uprising expansion.
It's very likely that it's simply impractical if not impossible to separate the Uprising expansion from the item content that was planned to go with it. Nevertheless, a confirmation would be much appreciated, I'm sure I'm not the only one.
6th - Uprising, dropsuits and skill reset. 14th - Official launch, 3 new weapons and Planetary Conquest is enabled.
Just a yes or no from CCP would do wonders. |
