I've already asked for my Kain AFK thread to be locked after someone necro'ed it three months later, I'm debating removing the AFK video because anti-kane and anti-Imperfect zealots are using it in every other thread.
It was meant to bring the issue into the mainstream of the forums by using a big name in the community. The issue was being mostly ignored or played down with no official comment from CCP. Two days after the Kain thread exploded it was in the notes of things they were looking to fix.
Kain has probably tried to do more to fix AFK'ing in this game than anyone else.
Not only that his AFK in my video was what got the issue onto CCP's patch notes.

I'm not backing down haha when I posted that video I was like you, angry and misguided.
I've just talked to Kain in IRC and got to know him a bit, I figured he would be pissed at me after the thread (most of the Imperfects were, some even threatened me) instead we talked about ideas on how to fix the Issue and looked at how trying to solve it on the player/moral level was a waste of time. |

Nah, the Negative-Feedback did their part as did Chronos. It was one hell of a team. One lessoned was learned though: never give Telc multiple cases of beer right before a bunch of Dust panels. Turns out most of the Betamax guys don't drink, so we had our work cut out for us. Ended up sharing victory beer at our flat that night with the Zion guys.

This got some play in the forums while you were at fanfest, it was taken out of context because of all the Imperfect troll threads talking about how Imperfects just won for Betamax. |
