You should be paying money to not grind, instead you just get more SP yet still have to log in and "no life" it to get full value. This is a very big issue I have with the monetization of this game. Back during the original vote on the SP system I told people they'll never get their money's worth out of the "active boosters" I would love your feedback on my discussion on problems I find with the skill progression system. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=71470&find=unreadIt is quite wordy and rambling.

Because if you are going to stop playing because other folks are gaming the system you are a whiny puss.
Or you can just AFK like them. Wait, now everyone is in the MCC and no one is actually playing? talk about fun. |

I saw a guy on the leaderboards with a KDR of 346 (thats 38 times yours) with a W-L ration of .92, by your logic you are a non factor to him I suppose?
Paging Prius Vecht! Paging Prius Vecht! Your brains are still at dumdum central. Please come and collect them at your earliest convenience.
Are you certain? Or is it because your "my KDR means im a bigshot" argument got shot to pieces? My money is on the latter. |

I'd consider that a "stop playing" event. |

Thats my opinion since I dont AFK farm in the MCC.. Seriously the most pointless thing to do.... You play a game just to sit there.... Yea O.K |

I think there's a few ways around the problems of newbies not being able to compete and earn enough warpoints. A system where 1 WP = 5 SP, and 1 second = 2 or 3 WP could still work. It does bring a slightly higher potential for AFK farming, but there's at least a much better incentive for mercs to get out of the MCC and play the game. Of course better players would still earn SP quite a lot faster, but this earning potential is ultimately limited by the weekly cap. If anything, there should be higher SP rewards for playing better so players always have something to strive towards (this is partly why I'm opposed to the soft cap being limited to 1000 SP as well).
My personal preferred method for helping newer players earn SP is to give them a multiplier until they reach a certain amount. Something along the lines of a permanent 3x multiplier until they reach 2 or 3 million SP, then it goes back down to 1x. Naturally this would be increased to 4.5x if they use an active booster (CCP have got to make money from this after all). |

GL with that one Not likely. What I see is a very vocal minority of obsessive-compulsives, with a very vocal minority railing against their obsessive-compulsive practice. Banning, however, isn't the answer. And removing the SP they've gained from AFK'ing is probably not only impossible from a data perspective, it's also not as just a solution as some people think it is. There are several ways CCP can fix this problem, including methods that don't even address it directly. They say they've got something coming in Uprising, and I'm willing to give it a shot before making any more suggestions about fixes. That said, I like where Reiki Jubo was going with the idea of tracking statistics. Having statistical indicators to suggest a player's reliability (or lack thereof) for hiring purposes could be valuable information, not just because of the AFK problem, but because actions have consequences. If one out of every four kills you get is a team kill, a prospective employer should know that about you.
+1 to this. let them AFK all they like, along with kicking them out of games and zero ISK we want AWOL and Desertion Occurrences tracked on their permanent file. Give us a % too. |

You shouldn't. You should go AFK with the others. There is clearly no SP incentive at the moment.
The only reasons to continue to play are:
- you actually enjoy the game - you feel a duty or desire to help your team win matches - you need the practice
+1 for stat tracking.

+1 for the idea of bonus SP for newbies. 3 million SP sounds like a good number.
Bonus SP on WP, bad idea.
also +1 for better stat tracking, hold those mercs accountable ^_^ |
