You are confusing SP reset with SP respec. Know the difference.
In the Dust community, an SP reset means your character gets completely set back to zero as if you just started all over again. An SP respec means your character's total lifetime SP becomes unallocated so that you can apply them again to whichever skill books you want. CCP confirmed they are doing this on the 6th because Uprising features so many extensive changes to the skill tree that they had no choice but to give everyone a free respec. |

So, there IS a reset on the 6th right? Or is there a re spec (we keep the SP but need to set them new)? And, is there another reset on the 14th?
Keep in mind that CCP stated there will be no more resets after January 10 (which already passed) unless something catastrophic happens. Considering CCP has a solid system of backing up every bit of data in secure locations, the catastrophic part won't happen for a looooooooong time... except until a tsunami or earthquake hits on both the main servers and backups.
During Fanfest, CCP stated they will add new things on the 14th which is the official launch date. There was no mention of anything on what happens to the SP. There will be no point in letting us keep our SP if they were going to wipe out the SP anyways on that date. |

I'm just wondering, we have already a couple million skill points and this is still a beta. So I was thinking that CCP is going to make a NEW reset for the lunch on the 14th so every buddy is equal at the release.
If the intent was to keep players on equal footing, it won't work. 10 years from now when you and I have 200 million SP, there will always be new players coming in with just 500,000 SP total to start. Besides, if CCP ever manages to fix the matchmaking system, then it won't matter if you have huge SP gaps when newbies will be able to fight against other newbies rather than vets. |

NO
Long Answer: As far as what CCP has said during Fanfest. |

Awesome, if I only new, I would have played even more :D.
That's what the forums are for. This news has been around for ages and the topic relating to it seems to have a habit of raising itself from the dead like a dead horse that likes to get beaten. |
