Aside from the fact that I lost untold SP from the fact that CCP failed to communicate effectively the duration of this event.

I find it also irritating that this means CCP gave players one single day to reach full SP cap, TWICE IN A ROW!?
So... If someone was either busy early in the week (Or planned around getting 3x SP through Thursday like they told us) that person is potentially screwed out of like 1.2 million SP or something.

Which is another reason most of us thought the event would run "Through" Thursday. Because it would be ludicrous to have two consecutive days of expecting players to be able to reach two week's worth of SP cap. One of which being 3x as high as the other.

wtf?


So who does this event benefit. The neck beard elite who have no jobs, no finals, no commitments on a Tuesday and Wednesday? Leaving other customers behind in the dust, This was NOT a good move CCP.

This was bad for the community and bad for the game.
Honestly just tell me, did you really think this through?

So a penny saved isn't a penny earned?

Lost is lost, the net result is the same so don't play semantics.
BTW I'm not saying they should fix this event, or toss anyone they screwed a bone.

I'm just hoping to demonstrate that with a few extra digits or an extra sentence all things like this can be completely avoided. So why not?

When dates and timing are important people generally make them very clear. The military does not say 'we're going to attack at 12:00 next Friday' Do they mean this friday coming, or the one after that? AM or PM?

A company serving to international customers with a timed event could at least take the extra three seconds to say "BTW, this is GMT, so don't be confused by the fact that this will result in a weird additional schedule. Like having one day to reach weekly SP cap. Then second day to reach weekly SP cap.


IMO they needed to either be more concise OR normalize their downtime/reset scheduled to take into account this ill-synchronized event they laid over-top of it.

If it needs to be pointed out, the difference in my position, than the opinion of some music industrials:

The difference is nobody asked to listen to music in the elevator and nobody wanted it. If some guy pays for a coffee and hands it to me free, no company lost any money and I wasn't going to get coffee anyways.

As far as downloading songs. If you place two items on a shelf, identical except one is priced 50% less, what do you think people will get?

Sure everyone will buy the less expensive thing, but some New people who otherwise would never have gotten the full priced item may now be interested in the half off item.

Likewise when something is technically available to everyone free, people who otherwise wouldn't have even bought the songs now figure "what the hell, it'll take 2 minutes, why not".

If a particular person was interested in buying a new album but then find's it on a turret and downloads it anyways then yes, obviously the company lost money to pirating. Just like shop lifting.

Silly off topic but when you bring slander like that into a conversation it needs sorted out. This is nothing like what I was saying and I'm sure you can see that.

It's funny, all this in defense of CCP. All this opposition to the simple suggestion that they include a time-zone stamp for important posts.

Because you all feel that critical information being implied (while maybe fine for Eve veterans) is somehow also acceptable for everyone else.

Even though I saw it coming this time and took full advantage, these "week in a day" pseudo-events are deeply unfair and should not be allowed to happen again.
