Not really, only the same as when playing WoW for instance, if you pick a healer class then all ya gonna be doin is healing. Just on here you can utilize your class much better and also it will promote teamwork, if your specced as assault AR then when you see a logibro or heavy, you follow them to improve your own gameplay, nice to follow a healer for reps and support fire. If you follow a heavy you know you can use him to soak damage and rip through enemy light infantry and take some heat of you while you fire more accurate shots into any special weapon users like Mass drivers and other threats to the heavies armour. Also you have the speed and fire power to rush any AV guys whose aiming for a friendly tank.
By limiting you, your roles will come out clearer. At the moment it's not about if your a heavy ar a scout as you can change suits freely at supply depots or between lives and come back with a totally new fighting style since the skills are all universal. This leads to it being less about your actual class and more about where you put your SP, which in itself if pretty fine since it breeds adaptability since everyone is so versatile in their choices, but seems like CCP is pushing hard for us to be single role focused to help breed more team work orientated players than one man armoury lone wolves. |

But it's not COD, you "level up" Ya see the problem? it's an FPS trying to incorporate MMO elements. It's gonna be WOW, you gain sp from battlegrounds until you "level up" but instead of clicking buttons and relying on level ect alone as most MMO's and brings in FPS skill where a players actual ability makes more of a differnce than if he's "5 levels" above you, in this case levels prob could be compared to like a mill SP or something but you get my point I hope.
But I do feel for you man, we've had alot of freedom for a long time, and it is like being given a room full of toys and then after a few months being told you can pick 5 to keep. |
