We are starting to work on our tournament plans over at www.urgentfury.com and would love to hear feedback from Corps on what you would like to see. |

Sorry guys I thought I had done an intro post but I cannot find it...
My name is Shane of course one of the owners and Community Manager of Urgent Fury. I am also a PlayStation MVP on the Shooter Team. We first met the CCP gang at E3 and have been working with them since.
We create tournaments for Shooters primarily and have been since Socom 2. As for the details of the tournament will be discussed soon we are looking into feedback on what you guys would like to see in general.
Good feedback is would you like to see in the structure of the tournament... For example, for the first event we will look at a 30 day ladder followed by a Double Elimination Bracket to determine the winners.
Do you want us to set all of the parameters or would you like to see more control in setting the parameters for your match.
As for the Battle System, I do not have any details to share

XeroTheBigBoss wrote:UF must have changed. I saw it back in Socom3 days and each clan that was apart of it would get a few territories that represented each map and objective. If it's still like that how exactly would you do that? It must be different now. The thing I liked about UF in Socom was it was like Risk there was a board with lands and each clan would get like 2-3 lands and this land represented WaterWorks Demo this land represented Harvester Convoy ect.
Yup we still do that, and believe me we have this planned for down the road. First we will start with smaller events, get the community used to how we do things and go from there.
It is important to note our initial launch will be focused on SCEA.
CHICAGOCUBS4EVER wrote:UF has grown considerably since those days, extending to several different games.
the 1 thing that has remained constant however is the community. there is a considerable amount of people in this community that simply would not 'fit in' with the values of UF.
that being said, there are numerous groups on this game that would fit the mold to the T and I for one look forward to seeing this evolve.
as for game settings, from my experience I would say default settings would be just fine. Even going into the new build where things are going to be changed a lot from what I've seen, typically there is little reason to limit uses for teams.
Also shane, I would wait a couple weeks before really getting input for this, as the new build is this coming Monday with lots of changes being made. I would give people a week or 2 with the new build before getting informed feedback on this.
And Chicago has hit the nail on the head here, and we are very aware on what is going with the Dev side of things, they are very good about keeping us in the loop. We are looking at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance of any tournament starting.
We are working on a lot in the background while we get closer to launching Dust514 into the confines of Urgent Fury. We are just doing some preliminary work to get a feel for what everyone is looking for. |

Icy Tiger wrote:Urgent Fury is great, these guys did a monster job of organizing Starhawk Tournaments. Shane, I recommend you also talk to Kain Spero, he's a CPM member who's set up Tournaments twice before which have been pretty successful, so if you collaborated on something, you could do a good job.
Looking forward to this.
Thanks for the heads up |

Our initial Tournaments will be more along League and Ladder play... A TacMap is still different from in game because of the Scenarios...
But we are just getting started |
