That's right guys! I'm in the race! And let me tell you exactly why and exactly what I'm gonna do once I get that seat but let me start off with a little bit of a background on what was the final straw that forced my hand into doing this. I didn't want to do this, but I have to. You see, I think we're suffering from a little problem I like to call the 1% of Dust. What I mean with that is that we have a loud minority of 1% that practically make up 99% of the forum posts. These guys are very good at maintaining this status quo as they try to bully and intimidate all new posters! I find this environment both unhealthy for the game and disgusting on a personal level, guys. Everybody knows they tried to intimidate me, but you guys know me: I don't give a ****! Nobody will intimidate Ric Barlom, bottom line.
Now once I get elected I will devote all my free time on creating a brand new forum environment. That means no virtual bullying, no trolling and no organised events that negatively effect the community (AFK farming marathon is a good example of this type of event). It's gonna be a forum where my kids, if they exist, can enter safely to the forums and express their opinions without the fear of being bullied. It's gonna be all open discussions, deep thoughts and great results for both the game and for individual growth, guys. Same goes for the in game behaviour.
Now some of supporters have been a little worried cause they believe that it's only this 1% who vote. Well guys I'm not going for the troll vote. I'm not going for the minority vote. Female vote? No. That's right, guys: I'm going for majority vote. I'm talking about all those white males between the ages of 21-69 who just wanna relax and play a fun game, and let me take care of the punks. Now I promised you guys a 5 step program so let me get started with the first 2, and I'm gonna be updating this thread throughout this long campaign. And remember 99%: I do this for you guys!
1. Identify the troll, punish the troll - I think the current CPM is being too soft on the trolls! Just like I've never been soft in my intimate relationships, I'm not gonna be soft on the trolls either. Here's what we're gonna do: We're gonna track all your posts both in game, and out of game. On top of that we're gonna have moles listening all your voice chat conversations in game. Once we identify a potential troll thread, we will act. Minus 2 million SP from a potential troll. If this does not stop the poisonous behaviour it will be a 30 day ban from game and if you as much as think about complaining about it on the forums we will erase your account. No questions asked.
2. Corp regulation- I don't give a **** what anybody says, I will regulate the **** out of all major corporations! We're gonna start of with a couple of simple ones but I plan to get tougher if these measures won't work properly.
2.1. Maximum of 2 females per corp: I know, girls you'll be a little upset over this and let me be the first one to tell you that I love each and everyone of you lovely things. But let's be honest here: There cannot be more than 2 females in a corp, otherwise it's gonna be a cat fight! Not gonna happen during my time at the office. Sorry, ladies.
2.2 Increased social responsibility - Corps will be held accountable for the trolling and bullying their members do, resulting in a massive ISK fee every time anyone from that corp start running their mouth in the forums.
Now I will posts the 3 later steps on these forum closer to the election day, guys. Meanwhile hang in there and know that when I take over there's gonna be some drastic changes! |
