I run as an Electronics Scout, but when I see a red sneaking up on a squad member, how on earth am I supposed to know who to warn? How do I know which squad member each green dot represents?
The top thing on my wish list is for CCP to add numbers to the dots of my squad mates on the radar. I need to be able to yell: GÇ£4 you got a red around the corner to your leftGÇ¥ or GÇ£2 you got a red on your 6". I suppose that if the red appears on my radar it would appear on my squad mateGÇÖs radar too, but Assault troops donGÇÖt look at their radar much in my experience as there sensor strength is usually not good enough to pick up anything they are not eyeballing.
I think I will try those Precision Enhancers you mention.
I like to equip an armour repair because if someone catches you in low armour you might not have enough EHP to get away. I also like kinetic catalysers if I can fit them, since even as an Electronics Scout a bit more speed helps, although I might be willing to sacrifice speed for a Range Amplifier. I have not tried the Rang Amplifier yet.
I often run SMG/SMG as switching weapons is faster than a reload, and because sidearms take less CPU than light weapons. I have SMG Operation maxed and have a few levels of SMG Proficiency.
A little more on SMG: SMG is light and has a fast tracking speed. When you come out of a sprint your SMG is usable right away, unlike a heavier weapon such as a Shotgun which takes a while to bring to bear. When I ran Shotgun I found that during CQC fights I would often accidentally go into a sprint for a step or two and then be dead before I got the Shotgun levelled at my target again. The fast tracking of the SMG also means that you can strafe and jump around and still maintain a bead on your target. A Scout suit tanks damage by avoiding getting hit in the first place, so you donGÇÖt want to be standing still during a fire fight. With an SMG, if you donGÇÖt have stellar aim you will often run our of ammo in the middle of a fight. The reload time on an SMG is quite fast, but switching to a second SMG before you run your clip dry is even faster. Just remember to reload both SMGs between fire fights.
Edit: The fits I run most are SMG/SMG/Remote Explosive, and SMG/SMG/Drop Uplink. I also have situational fits: - SMG/Swarm Launcher for dealing with vehicles and installations. - SMG/Sniper Rifle (Although I prefer Assault suit for sniping) - SMG/Shotgun for hunting heavies. In these fits I consider the SMG as my primary weapon, with the light weapon being situational. |
