So Jenza just showed us that you are invisible, completely, directly after spawning and still so until you move. Is this already, an AFK exploit for those who care?

Doubtful since they said they planned to fix AFKing, not improve on it

 Shhhhh

Edit: actually I am sure AFKers would figure that out in about half a sec.

Seems pretty easy to put a time limit on it if it is an issue. Even 10 seconds is a ton of time but nothing for AFKing.

Also your still vulnerable to nades and etc.

I'm really hoping CPM is taking note. I'm sure I heard one of them mention that they'll purposefully look for flaws in the system and ways it can be abused. Well, here's one.

I am sure it will be the same as EVE with a timer.

In EVE, when a ship jumps through a gate from one system to another, the ship arrives "cloaked". Moving or hostile action will drop the close and let that ship be targeted.

The cloak will also expire after 30 seconds.... so the ship will appear 30 seconds after jumping *anyway*.

I don't know for sure, but as they have a track record with this kind of mechanic, I would assume that there is a similar "cloak-expiration-timer" mechanic to be applied as part of uprising.

ah so I wasn't the only one thinking this, but hopefully the worst reward system in games ever has been fixed so AFK does not reward well or at all.

You hold your gate cloak in EVE for 1 minute after going through. I would imagine Dust would have a similar limitation installed.

In one of the keynote/DUST related vids DEV said that the spawn 'cloak' only lasts few seconds. If I remember correctly about 1-3sec.

Edit: Yes a timer would be an easy fix, but Jenza never mentioned it and said that it only deactivates with movement. So that should probably be fixed to be a timer, as in before it is even released.

 As we all should be.
We are Beta testers. Our job is to experience the bugs before the commercial release and report them to CCP.

You hold your gate cloak in EVE for 1 minute after going through. I would imagine Dust would have a similar limitation installed. maybe a 5 minute cloak in the MCC because its like warping into 1.2 super padded wall high sec where hugs are to dangerous and thus outlawed. right? now for trolls aside. if the reward system isn't fixed then the cloaking adds nothing to it and AFKers are just going to keep going.

It deactivates. In the keynote when Nulabors "corp" attacked fox four's "corp" they spawned in the MCC and the cloak deactivated even though they did not move.

Why are we worried about the cloak? Isn't AFK Farming itself a much bigger issue? Remove the 5 sp/s thing, make it active WP collection only, or, if you don't move for 45 s, game kicks you out.

It is pointless. If they want to do it let them. It does not hurt me or anyone else in the game, also we can leave matches if you are dying to someone who is afk. It is not that big of a deal.

I have never been away from my controller while being in a match. I don't cheat, boost, exploit, afk or any other activity that one could consider anything but pure game play. I may not be good but I do play when I am on an I don't quit battles because of other people or corps. I play 100%. Who cares if they are afk? Leave the battle if it is that bad.

The Robot Devil wrote:yeah that sounds like an ideal solution. I just now spent an entire match (i would say sorry whoever was on my team but they won) with two players i did not know AFKing in the MCC out of curiosity. 17k SP, thats sucks and in no way would i want to play a game were that could happen. I literally did not move the whole match. I had no idea how broken that was.... and you say leave it alone, no way. that will hurt the game greatly.Bojo The Mighty wrote:Skipper Jones wrote:It deactivates. It is no different that sitting cloaked afk in a system for a day, causes tears but not much more. Yes it may sometimes cause a loss but who cares? The battles we fight now are random and pointless and to say that some douches are ruining the game is a bit much. If they were corpmates or if the battle had a point then I would say yes it is a problem but as for right now it doesn't matter. These people either can't compete and think that the little bit of extra SP will help or are people who are good and don't need it. Either way it doesn't effect the game as it is right now. People afk in tanks all the time, how are we going to combat that? Sitting at a checkpoint waiting on reds is basically afk, people are doing it just to hear everyone cry on the forums.
