Just thought I'll share some little tech stuff.
Ever wonder if it's the game lagging or is it your connection, well here's a simple solution to troubleshoot it. Since I'm on Mac I can say exactly how to do it, but Windows peeps gonna have to Google that.
It's just a simple continuous ping test. What is that you ask? Well basically your computer hits a website over and over, performing the ping test, and it tells you if your connection is stable. Stable connection is when your test comes back with no timeouts.
Looking something like this.
If your connection is crap, then it'll look something like this. Note the timeouts.
On Mac this is how to test it out.
Applications > Utilities > Network Utiity > Ping
Enter whatever website you want, doesn't matter, click the "Send an unlimited amount of pings", hit the "Ping" button and watch the results as they happen. |

Just pointing out where people might wanna troubleshooting first. Don't wanna be on the forums crying about the game is lagging when the problem lies with your own connection. |
