What a great idea! *sarcasm* OP, matches don't even last 25-30 minutes...
The problem isn't with the red line, or people deciding not to fight.
The problem was with the idiotic passive SP mid-match that the majority of players voted for.
It's a pub match, and it's their gear and equipment. They are under no obligation to jump down and help you. If they feel like sitting in the base and playing cards that's their own damned prerogative.
Play for yourself, and stop demanding that others play with and for you.
If this game were CoD or BF3, where all the equipment is free, then I can see this working. But it's not...
If we have a team redlined, I'm not going to demand that they be pushed out so I can get free kills and earn more money at their expense. Screw that.
You won a match, you redlined a team. Now shut your ass up, and camp an objective. You have no business being worried about wtf someone that is afk is doing in their redline! If they snipe at you, you snipe them, or just take cover and camp. Not like the sniper can capture an objective.
You folks that qq about redline afkers need to get shot. |

lol Ain't no other player duty-bound to help you win, nor help you if you are losing. Once people hit their cap, they don't get anything anyway.
How admirable it is, if you still feel the need to hurl yourself in front the bus, when your team is clearly going to lose, but don't demand a systemic change just because someone else doesn't share your sense of martyrdom. |

You folks that qq about redline afkers need to get shot. This guy takes the game too serious. Probably a gun-toting "Murican". Anyways. If there are ways to 'encourage' the players to play, then we should explore them. Will it be perfect? No, but it is definitely better than doing nothing. I am okay when red-lined, I just use free suits and still get kills. Anyways, peace. Also, quoted person, chill the hell out.
I'm calm. I just spoke rudely deliberately. ^_^v
The proposed method doesn't "encourage" players to play.
You don't make an ultimatum, then call it an incentive. |

Please do fix this, I just finished a match where at least 6 mercs were sitting inside of my MCC with mobile droplinks collecting free war points. 10 v 16 makes it very hard to play and so expensive it is pointless to use anything but a starter dropsuit which is sad after all the time that is put into getting better equipment. so please fix this ASAP
Its one thing to be outmatched, its another when the other teams best guy is only 6/2 and yet they hold every single hub the entire game....
Hah.... Was in a match an hour ago and there was 10 people in the MCC(i think that's the worst i have ever seen it), 4 in my squad fighting on the red line and a random who was trying to help us. The random may of went 1/16 but damn least he tried and im glad that he got most his points from healing us and finished 5th, hell we even destroyed tanks and dropships got nice ISK rewards too. At 1 point i checked on the party in the MCC and they were shooting and punching each other, an there was nanohives an droplinks everywhere. Now that's just pathetic when theirs more action in the MCC than on the battlefield....
See? You may get a valiant soul like that. Willing to go 1/16 to support a helpless resistance in a *public match*... bless his soul. He finished 5th, because he tried, and died. Good for him, he has already earned more than those that didn't participate... Or did he...? Depends on what he fielded.
Under no circumstances should people in a public match be forced to do anything. ANYTHING. That's another player's money, equipment resource, and clone. That guy went and died 16 times! That's a lot of money going into the opponent's pocket! (Yes, you earn money depending on the gear you destroy.) Especially, if the guy was running anything STD and above.
Sooooo.... Starving a winning side of kills, also starves them of the potential to earn back the money they spent losing 2 or 3 proto fits. Better to sit tight in the red zone, and let them run around feeling bad that they won't get their money back. But hey at least they won right!?
Doesn't lore state that the clones are insane? Only a crazy guy loses to an enemy, then continues to present his backside to him for more *ahem*... punishment.
Change your viewpoint of public matches. They are there for you to profit from. Start thinking of them in that regard. |

Drop an uplink on the ground where new spawns don't have to wait in the MCC. Saves them time. You get points, they don't. Take a moment to select the MCC as it is possible to tell if the icon is the MCC or an uplink. Some players might not even care, horrible to contemplate. I know! Also, the concept of a free suit is to enable not paying out ISK to play. Everyone should also outfit at least a cheap one. Your starter suit with a reasonable weapon of your choice. Every class gets a completely free suit. Use it. Make ISK.
They can't seem to fathom that public matches are there to profit from. Not prove how much of a martyr you are. |

You folks that qq about redline afkers need to get shot. Have you ever heard of taking a starter fit and using militia weapons ONLY to make your own, customized suit? Theres no excuse for "not wanting to lose your gear" THAT IS WHAT THE GAME IS. "Every time you die you lose one of everything for the fitting you have equipped upon death" Yes. That is working as intended.
Okay. How about, "not wanting to allow the enemy to make money off of you"? Money is lost by death, and earned by killing. You can be quite cunning, and bleed your opponent dry of isk, if he keeps running expensive fittings AND you avoid getting killed by him in turn. In a public match that your team won't win, you do this by disengaging into the red zone.
You already lost the *public* match, WHY would you DELIBERATELY make it worth your enemies while to continue killing you? A misguided sense of bravado? Don't want your tenacity to be called into question? The guys winning the match, have likely fielded super expensive proto gear. If you get even 2 kills off on them, and then pull out of the fight, they're leaving negative. Cutting a hole in an enemies pocket every chance you get, is far more important than winning a public match. Aim to hit enemy players where it HURTS. The pocketbook! And squeeze as much money out of a public match as you can with as reasonably little amount of isk put at risk. It's very simple. You measure your costs vs. what's at stake in the battle as a WHOLE, and calculate how much monetary damage you can inflict on enemies.
Think beyond the public match.
Nothing personal. But I'm not talking rocket science here. |
