Hello, and welcome to the game! I love new people, for the most part, and you definitely seem like you have at least half of your brain, if not all. You know more then me after 2 Days... :P
Anyways, I just have a couple tips, some economical, and some combative. So here goes:
COMBAT: Your weapon affects playstyle, you should know this. But what I mean is you have to adapt. A small chance makes a huge difference. What I mostly see people doing wrong, that they get killed for: Is aiming. Some weapons almost REQUIRE you to (In Uncharted 3 terms...) Run n' Gun. This is basically keeping your finger OFF of the aim button. Why? Some weapons have terrible aim, that won't do you a ton of good. Shotguns for example, I spent an entire day of matches aiming. The next day, I stopped pressing L1, and got more than double kills. Mass Drivers are also another great example.
If you're into Scout Suits, I highly recommend taking this next part up as a habit. Every time you're in a firefight, get to a spot safe from attackers, and press START. You'll be taken to your Map of the battlefield. Look for a low traffic area, and go there, assuming you aren't going to have to pass through enemy lines. This can mean a win or a loss. If Objective A is getting slaughtered, chances are, Objective D is about to get hacked.
I see that you're into REs as well. I have a couple useful tips for this, as I'm a Demolitions Logi that loves to explode people. Stick with the Standard REs, they're good enough to survive with, don't cost a lot in SP, ISK, or CPU/PG, and are all-around good. Another great advantage you have, is that a surprising amount of people DONT use REs, and don't normally worry about them. Anyways, try to lay one down at every objective you can. The Standard RE can have up to 5 down at once. This makes you the most defendable person in the match, as squadmates will want to keep the REs intact.
Squads too, btw. A great thing. You don't normally find a whole lot of reliable squads, mostly some Newberries trying to get an Orbital Strike, but if you do happen to find a good one, its almost as if the game is giving you the win. Take it, say thank you, and be on your way. Also, under OPTIONS, turn Voice Chat on. Squadmates with mics are usually good at being leaders, and can give out orders for you to follow. Ok, that's all, time for economics (Next post...) |

Hai Bojo. :)
And see what? The signature? I didn't know I had to put that, but I'll start doing that when giving tips. :)
And yay new stuff in 5 days! I'm so excited. I just can't hide it. Super excited about the new graphics. I didn't rally have a problem with them until I was reading a 'DUST Vs. Defiance' article, and someone pointed them out. And then, looking back, I realized they weren't as great as some games... So yup. Colored suits too, Oooooh yea. :D
Anyways, Vyuru. Bojo is absolutely right, that is some stuff I missed (AKA: Didn't know... First lesson!). |
