Went pubbing without a squad on Manus Peak, high buildings at Bravo. The enemy team had been so focused on sniping the crap out of blue dots at Alpha that I managed to do a few passes by the rooftop. Myroned one forger -- first blood -- and three snipers. Didn't take long for a forger coming to hunt me once he'd figured my pattern. After some hiding, dancing, route alterations, and blue distraction, I myroned that forger as well. By the end of the match reds had packed and left the rooftops, but not the base of Manus, they hadn't, which resulted in one more sniper myroned.
Manus again, blue gunners. Started off by blowing a railgun close to enemy redline with a guy manning it. The he went after me with militia swarms. After locating him I'd dropped a squad-sized blue force on him and, while he was desperately fighting infantry off, proceeded to land the final hit. Next thing he does is going after me with his Gorgon. Tried to ram me, but failed miserably. For the rest of the match we'd been harassing Bravo. Reds deployed a blaster Soma. We'd fled it first, then came back to finish it off - the tank was taking swarm fire while I've been going for the strafing run. By the end of the match half the enemy team switched to militia swarms and I had to grab some serious cover. 630 war points in the end with no defend order on.
Quite awhile ago, on Manus again, our crew had been sweeping the sniper nest north-west of Charlie. On the second pass I'd been flying fast and low to deploy troops quickly with no need to activate inertia dampeners, only to get two reds up there decapitated in quick succession. Wasn't even trying to pull it off, they'd just been standing on highest spots available.
Another fun situation was when our crew went against a forger on Ashland. He was occupying the Echo pipeline. We almost got him on the first pass. On the second we just sneaked up on him and smoked him before he could make a shot.
I've had two instances of having three orbitals dropped on me. In one I lost two aircraft to AV while not being careful, and the other went totally smooth.
As soon as I got my hands on prototype cycled missile turrets, I've been doing tank hunting. More often than not, tanks run if we manage to get a nice angle. Can get a nice explosion every once in awhile, too. Two days ago we've had a match on Skim Junction, high towers. Myroned two snipers at Delta with one landing, almost blew myself up, and then they called an AUR Gunlogi in. We'd chased it from the gates to the north of Alpha all the way to Delta, while he was moving in reverse and looking up trying to get us into his firing arc. Got himself stuck against a crate with predictable results. Then the tanker called his vehicle in again only to get himself forged to crisp before we could even get into firing position above him.
Works rather nicely if you have a tanker buddy nearby to coordinate anti-tank operations with. |
