Scout Type-A
'Daemon' Shotgun Blueprint Carthum Assault Scrambler Pistol Flux Grenades Gauged Nanohive
Advanced Profile Enhancer Complex Shield Extender Advanced Kinetic Catalyzer (got enough PG/CPU available for a complex but need mo' SP) Basic Armor Repairer
This is what I use for Skirmish when playing solo. It's very much an offensive 'blitz' suit used for being where I need to be as quickly as possible. The main difference from normal Shotgun Scout fittings is that I use a Profile Enhancer instead of a Dampener. The reasons for this are:
1) Most AR bros don't give a single duck fart about the radar. 2) If they get line of sight on you, you're dead. 3) The only way you're going to stop that from happening is knowing where they are so you can put something solid between the two of you.
It doesn't matter if they can't see you on the radar if you can't see them. Chances are they'll get visual on you and split you in two regardless. Since the skilled part of shotgun use is closing the gap to get yourself in range, you need as much information as possible at all times, which the Enhancer helps greatly with. Also, you feel like you're dodging bullets when you round a pillar in a way that gives the enemy no line of sight, which is ~pretty sweet~.
I also use an armor repairer, which is definitely the most questionable fitting, but once you master the art of staying alive for more than a minute as a scout it pays for itself and removes the need to rely on fatboys trying to lock their beams onto your dust cloud. It also has the side benefit of lighting up anyone approaching you while hacking, which is something you're going to be doing a lot as a frontline scout.
I still die more than most suits, but the kills scale equally, to the point where I'm outkilling tanks some rounds and topping the table most. |

I probably should have specified that the deaths are entirely down to how aggressive you are, not a mandatory part of the fit. Most of the time I'm way too reckless and will happily hardcore dance into the middle of a heavily fortified position for the hell of it.
Since I started out as a Logi, my KDR is too wrecked to care about anyway (thank god) and I don't mind wading in, because in a public game someone has to pick up that baton before the hivemind collectively decides it's redline/sniper rifle time, and everything becomes terrible.
EDIT: Oh, now that I read it again I get what you mean. I meant 'most suits' as in other fits I use, not other players. |
