Comparable to the M-32, you have to use trajectory prediction and get used to the broken ballistics physics. Not exactly something meant for all situations, but a beast in bottlenecks or holding down a spot. I meant that people complain about every grenade launcher. People complain about anything that's not an assault rifle
Exactly why the Heavy is so screwed up right now.

I usually play the support role in games that give the option. Don't know why. I just really like helping people get the win and earning stuff while doing it. Healers? I love that. I can provide a service that keeps us going.
Those balls to the walls Skirmish games where things are evenly matched up and you come out victorious in the end by 4 clones or less and you've been reviving and repairing all game are glorious. Obviously it wasn't just you, but you know that if you weren't doing what you were doing it very likely may have been a defeat. |

It's good to be a logi. The way I usually describe being a Logi is kinda like being the living embodiment of a Swiss Army Knife. Ready to deal with any problem. Personally started using SMGs and Mass Drivers with my Logi gear and I have to say the results are surprising with the SMG.
Next try being a Logi behind three Heavies. Did that once with Corp mates and let me tell you the job is never over. |

DS thanks for putting a spotlight on logis (it was great squading with you we should definitely do it again sometime) , and I'm glad you got a chance to try it out. I wish more players would try other roles out so that everyone has better insight into the game (for the last week I ran assault, which was a fascinating experience, especially where I've been a logi for the last few months, I now know what assault goes through, which will help me with my logi skills). But as Jakar stated, the logi is like a Swiss army knife, and that is the beauty of the logi; there is no one way you can play it. You could be a support logi, an assault logi, a hacking logi, a sniping logi, a drop uplink logi, an assault dropsuit logi...
With the new build coming out, I'm fascinated to see what kind of logis will emerge, whatever the case I will be on the field killing red dots and saving everyone's ass.

Before the update, give the mass driver a try with logistics. It's a great support weapon and almost a must have to help heavies lead a charge and when you need to push the enemy back to revive a teammate.
I was originally a mass driver logi, but of late I've found the AR to be the best weapon for not only crowd control, but taking down the enemy threat. Now don't get me wrong I love the MD and think it's an amazing support weapon, however, after using the AR for the last few weeks I think it's the best choice for the logi.
But then again, like I noted above there are so many different ways you can create a logi.
Another choice is the Laser Rifle, which can also be used for crowd control and as a way to force the enemy back. The only problem is that without a sidearm, CQC can be a very sticky situation. Overall it's a great weapon, but the lack of sidearm makes it a hard weapon choice to make.

I'm not fond of the MD anymore either. Usually, whatever i'm lobbing fire at could've been dead already with the AR, which is good close range and mid-range. The MD is good at all ranges once you get skilled with it, but I don't find too many situations where i'd be hitting more than one enemy any way. The concentrated fire from my AR and whatever the guys i'm around are packin' is more than enough to take down most. The higher tier MDs with damage mods coupled with someone competent in the darn things are MONSTERS though.
I don't really like the LR on the logi either (like, the first thing I tried after learning of this "SP reset"). It's great in Ambush matches, which for some reason usually ends up with people being as far away from each other as possible, but I like to stick close with my mates. When they start heading out towards the enemy, which is when they're most likely to sustain critical injuries and where i'm needed the most (in other words: the parts I really enjoy), I was pretty much S.O.L. |

Always nice for us logis to get a little bit of appreciation for our hard work, many thanks guys. :)
Appreciation or not, however, you'll still find a lot of us healing, reviving, and resupplying our fellow mercs to the best of our ability.
Oh, and to the newbie logis out there, a word of advice: don't stop supporting your team, even if no one bothers to thank you for your trouble. Trust me when I say that your teammates will be grateful to you in the end, even if they don't say anything about it. :D |

Yep, it doesn't really take too much SP to get into a decent fit. The one I ran was just a Type 1 with all militia stuff. Most of the SP I used was towards Light Weapons skills. Right now is the best chance to try new things and see what you enjoy most. Take the chance and run with it. |
