Bought a 7 day booster forgot to equip it, capped out, realized I didn't have it going and turned it on.
Thought it would then allow me to get the SP that I should have gotten if I had turned it on. It does not do this and wonder if I need to have it on before I start getting points for the week or if I had remembered before I capped it would have given me my x.5?

The booster doesn't actually change the cap it just gives you more sp untill you hit the cap.
If you add up your in game contributions you should still hit the unboosted cap.
So basically while it seems like a larger cap its not its just bonus sp.
Once you hit the actual cap you can get the max of 1k per game and 50% tacked on. So I don't think its actually a bug. |

Working as intended, I believe. You have to make sure and fire up the booster before earning a single pre-capped SP if you want to maximize your earnings. |

WIthout booster You have an X ammount of SP until you cap. After you cap, you get 1000 SP max/match
With Booster You have an x ammount of SP until you cap. After you cap, you get 1000*1.5 SP max/match
WIthout the booster, you simply took longer to reach X. |

I was under the impression that the boosters increased the cap, and that any pre-cap sp you earned without booster loses you allthat "potential" booster sp. Perhaps I'm mistaken. |

Sorry but this is wrong, I know the booster gives you more total SP for the week. Same with passive booster you get more so in a day.
My question is why it doesn't give you the extra SP the booster gives you if you activate it after cap or as the poster above says you have to do it before you get 1 sp for the week? What is it and why can't I get the SP for the week I activated it on? |

It doesn't raise the cap, it simply boosts the SP you earned while you hit the cap. |

Ahhh I understand now, sorry I'm an idiot wasn't thinking clearly. Doesn't add SP but boosts potential for more sp if activated before cap, makes sense not sure what I was thinking, thanks. |

CCP has previously confirmed that it -DOES- raise the active cap.

You do get more SP with booster than not for the week, it increases your cap by .5 if you have activated it before you start getting points for the week. But in my case I forgot activated after cap, so all my SP was spent therefore I couldn't get my .5 extra sp.

The cap only counts unboosted SP.
The unboosted cap is 190.4 K. After the booster it's still 190.4 K, but you can earn some extra SP while you earn your unboosted SP. The problem before was that it counted both the extra and unboosted Sp, so all it did was increase the rate at which you hit the cap. |

To make myself clearer:
The active cap is 190.4 K Belzebub then earns 90.4 K Sp. So now his current cap is 100 K
If he were to turn on the booster at that point, then only the remaining 100 K would get boosted. So his total Sp for that week would be 240.4, instead of the 285.6 he would have received if he had turned it on from the beginning.
What happened here is that he burned through his potential SP before he could boost it, and now it's gone. Turning the booster on now won't let him get the other 95.2 Sp. |

Belzee, take it from me (someone who has done extensive research on the subject) and ill explain it as thoroughly as I can. This is NOT a bug, Now I cant say this is intended, but its not a bug. The system works as follows...... (keep in mind these are all numbers ive pulled from dev threads explaining the system).
Ever since they restablished the 'weekly' cap The "cap" was set at 190,400 SP WITHOUT boosters. This number is important because of how it comes into play with the equations. As a side note we gain about 200,000 passive skill points per week (give or take a bit). When you apply the 50% booster this "cap" does not increase, just the amount you gain from the cap increases. This means the following....
The booster does not increase your cap by 50% it just adds to 50% of whatever you make weather you have hit your cap or not. In short, the 50% extra SP you gain each match DOES NOT add up to your 190,400 SP cap, only the original "un-boosted" number is totaled.
So for example you played one skirmish match and made an unboosted amount of 10k SP and an additional 5k from the 50% booster. The 10k adds up to your "weekly cap total" while the 5k is disregarded as something "extra" (the 5k doesn't count towards your cap).
This creates the illusion that your cap was raised, but in reality it wasn't, its just that extra 50% doesn't count towards your cap. So what does that mean? how does that involve your question? Well.... YOU already hit your weekly 190,400 SP cap, meaning you have no extra Cap "boost"
To give an example of this.... say you were already 90,000 SP into your weeks cap before you activated your booster, that 90,000 sp is lost in that you cant ever boost it again, however the remaining 100,000 SP will be boosted from then on. So yeah.....
do you have any other questions?? if so just PM me in game and ill try to explain it to you verbally.
For clarification: Each week.... if you have passive and active boosters running its possible to power out ROUGHLY 500k SP give or take 50k. That's a rough estimate as its difficult to say "exactly" how much SP is gained passively in a 1 hour period. |
