Advice for setting up and building a new corp

steadyhand amarr Ametat Security Amarr Empire 429	Posted - 2013.04.29 18:30:00 - [1] - Quote As a few people have noticed i have attempted a few times to try and get my corp off the ground but this has burnt out due to RL drama which after a few long years is finally over, but i have come to realize that unlike other games getting a corp off the ground in EvE/DUST is very very difficult if you are new comer or don't have backing and im sure im not the only one who has hit this brick wall. So i figured i would ask some of more established people out their how they did it and if they have any advice they would like to share as im sure some of bigger names out their would love a chance to show off a little :P. EvE is harsh place to live but i want my story to be how a new comer built an empire :) so please any advice is welcome. also are their ANY corp names not taken >.<

Why would people choose to join your Corp over the hundreds of others? It was easy for DUST University. We are here to train new players. Thus new players, and people who like to train new players, seek us out. We also had the reputation of EVE University to piggyback on when we got started. It is much harder to define a combat corp among the masses of other combat corps. Having a good name helps. Showing up at the top of the leader board helps. Having a good ad in the recruitment thread helps. Helping and squading up with players in the NPC corps helps. The massive influx of blueberries that will commence on May 14th will help a lot. Get ready for it.

Make it look professional. Get a couple of friends and get a solid core together. If you start topping boards, people will sit up and take notice. Through having my squad top the board, I've had a number of mails from people asking to join. Send out mails to people in NPC corps who do decently on the board. It might not succeed all the time, but you'll pick up some people, and once you get some you reach a critical mass where you are large enough to start attracting attention. After that, it gets a lot easier.
