EVE is the center point to the universe right now, as we create our own stories and influence eve, and we will, dust stories will be a critical part of eves stories, they will add depth and meaning to the stories of New Eden. You ask for your own story like a child want his own ball, but the truth is far more interesting when you share that ball.
EVE get the credit because it is our story's genesis, but it is the story of all of us. |

you said dust players are taking planets/systems? no, your not, your fighting for an Eve Corp or Faction. there is nothing as a dust player that you can claim.
this probably came off as harsh, but it is what it is. Eve has a storied past, with players rising to fame or infamy. we have seen the rise and fall of great alliances. the whole game world has been changed as a part of this.
your playing an instanced FPS with set rules, eve is a sandbox.
I disagree, yes we have no story.....yet, yes it is not a sand box.....yet, yes we don't affect eve except to be cannon fodder.....yet.
Dust players are like new members to any group they expect the benefits and recognition that they have not yet earned, but to tell them that they are pointless and that's why they don't deserve what they want, shuts them out and serves to splinter and poison the group.
EVE is Dust and Dust is EVE, we may not have earned that yet but neither have ever year long eve players, and yet we share the same universe and fight the same fights, and one day with a little luck people wont be able to separate the stories of the two because and story of EVE would be incomplete with out Dust, and any story of dust would be incomplete with out EVE.
Thats when we know we have arrived, when we have earned our keep, and both games will be better for it. I look forward to making smug comments to capsuleers about how, those pretentious fucks think they don't need us but that they would be helpless with out us, in good humor, with a knowing nod and a smile. |
