I run a type II Assault suit. Total shields are 281. Total armour is 151.
I have weapons 5, proficiency 4 and sharpshooter 4. I run with a GEK.
I'm excellent at dying!
Forget any tactics. When it is head to head with almost anyone they invariable cut through me like a knife through hot butter.
Are these figures for armour/shields really that low?
What's the answer, how is survivability increased for those occasions when you just HAVE to stand and fight? |

i have about over 400 shields on a type B right now and i have to say, its very very helpful.
of course i prefer not to stand and fight... if they see me first i tend to run away and flank when they get distracted by someone else. |

So the only answer is to up the level of the suit as a base then add shields/armour to that. I have shield control 5 which adds but that's about it.
Any knowledge on the new suits and their base levels? |

Stop putting yourself in 1v1 situations, that loadout and skillset is more than capable of holding it's own. While better suits will be harder to kill and you will most likely die, you shouldn't be dying that often. You have to consider that maybe your gun game isn't as good as you'd like it to be. |

Even if you run a type II with 400+ shields, I run that suit sometimes- you still wont stand against duvolls with stacked damage mods. Or even Geks |

Do not stand and fight.
Also, I think a lot of players may not be aware when they are taking damage from a couple different directions. Sometimes I like to play a sniper and plink people that are in firefights with a tac so my team can get kills easier.
If you are not moving all the time and using cover you are going to be a target for more than just the one player you are trying to kill 1 v 1.
Also, headshots. |

First work out how you can achieve a k/d of 5 or better in a 350 hp suit and a militia AR, then think about investing in equipment.

Well thanks for the input folks.
True about basic handling as a human rather than character, that needs work. Have 1 complex damage mod and often run with them stacked.

Militia Assault Dropsuit (used a Starter Fit)
Shield Control 4 Field Mechanics 4
2x Militia Shield Extenders 1x Militia Armour Repairer Whatever weapons/equipment you feel like.
Shield: 193 HP Armour: 209 HP Total: 402HP
Not only do I have a Militia version of your suit with more raw HP, but it also has the ability to regen armour as well as shields. And if you spend some AUR on Blueprints, you can fit it for free.
If you're dying from a focus on damage output, try investing in some survivability modules instead? |

If you figure it out will you let me know. lol. scout 136 shield, 103 armor militia assault 165, 201 lvl 2 assault 291, 120
Somehow I seem to do better with the militia fit.
stacked complex shields on lvl 2 fit. 390 shield, 120 armor. First opponent I see is one of those guys that consistently gets 20+ kills with his gek, thinking maybe now I have a chance. bzzt, I'm dead. literally as fast as you can say bzzt. And I'm pretty sure nothing else hit me.
Shield control lvl 3 field mechanics lvl 3. this is the base of my problem I think, shouid have maxed these out first thing.
light weapon sharpshooter prof lvl 4. assault weapon prof lvl 5.
I should be a lot better than I am. Put everything into assault rifle because its so versatile, but I do better with every other weapon available, except the side arms.
My main lvl 2 assault gets a complex damage mod and complex shields. Just got the assault prof lvl 5, tried stacking complex damage, but its too soft, I die so quick havent really had a chance to shoot at much. Losing 5 or 6 2k militia fits isnt a big deal but I'll go broke quick losing a 55k suit that often.
Hope to max shield control and field mechanices before the respec, maybe that will do something. |
