Last night (and technically this morning) I've spent more time in battle than I have in a long time (albeit using starter fits, and/or messing around with LAVs the whole time)
I've experienced a simple counter to laser rifles last night. In fact, it seems to be the missing link with the current game balance.
LAVs While I admit they don't help with the ones on top of buildings (still, snipers do), LAVs proved to be perfect for closing the gap between a close-mid range dropsuit, and a laser rifle user. Hell, I was even saved a few times by some guy just flat out running over the laser user.
I would imagine they'd also work great against snipers and the like.

LAVs are awesome, i dont get why everyone walks everywhere instead of skilling into awesome LAVs and running with 1-2 squadmates jumping out of the car at point blank or just plain running people over.... |

I absolutely love my methana, and I think I might try the caldari LAV with my current over abundance of sp. but my only problem with LAV's is that I have so much funand get carried away and do stupid ****, like driving straight through then entire enemy team and damn the risks, driving behind tanks, switching to my cycled missiles, shooting them and driving off again. However it hurts my wallet so I can't do it much. |

packed AV nades solves the problem, do you jump out in time? well my Ishukone assault SMG has something to say about that, and unless you have advanced assault level shields (about 450) its going to be difficult to beat that. |

The methane can have MUCH more HP then the SAGA however the saga handles FAR BETTER then the methane, and it can still take a hit, I got hit by a tank's railgun yesterday and I was fine (though obviously I needed to run away for a minute). |

This has been a common use for LAVs since the very first minutes of DUST. |

You know I saw Scheneighnay's name and just instantly thought: Scout or LAV.
