How is that going to work, just buy clone packs to support assaults on planets? Will it be possible to take a district, hold it for ransom and then transfer it back to the original owner? |

No....? Why would you ransom it? Why not just hold them hostage, let them know if they don't give you 100 mil per 2 weeks, you'll take every district they own? |

Because we might be hired to attack a district, but not hold it. Honestly, holding districts strains resources. |

Not sure I fully understand the question, but if you're asking what I think you're asking, you can always sell off any clones you have right before you want to hand over control to whoever you're giving it to. The district will become Unoccupied and the other party must send an attack to take it over. |

Because, you can make money that way by ransoming it back to them. Image where you could invade, destroy the infrastructure, and then leave if they dont pay up. Sorta like how lowsec pirate ransoming works in eve. |

1. Attack district. 2. Win. 3. Secure district. 4. Demand the cost of your clones back, plus a little extra. 5. Get paid. 6. Don't abandon district, and recommend your victim uses a reliable third-party escrow service next time. 7. Repeat steps 4 - 6 until they find a reliable third-party escrow service which wasn't set up by one of your alts. |

Pretty sure they said selling districts wasn't in the immediate future... somewhere.
Although Parsons idea seems like it could work.
Edit: NVRM I don't understand any of this anyway |

Beautifully evil.
I do hope a pirate sort of game play can be had eventually. Seems like an entertaining way to be a kitten. |

That was explained in the Dev blog regarding Planetary Conquest.
You would not be involved unless you are attacking or defending to district. Unlike EVE pill people just cruising around causing trouble we Mercs don't want to move without cash.
If your Corp is attacking a district it is specifically done to take the district. Why would you gamble hundreds of clones otherwise? |

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they say in the keynote that you would only take the district if the clones are depleted, and that just attacking to sort of "**** and pillage" could be a feasible play style? |

Yea the point being you can pillage using clones to attack other districts but by Foxfours own admissions its only profitable when using district clones.
The purpose of this was simple to keep fighting localized to a very small area for any given district. Thus to further reach out to other sectors of space and maintain profitablity one needs to establish beachheads and then use those districts to mount attack in other reaches of space.
To simply buy a clone pack for 80M ISK is simply not profitable to use to attack
Why simple 80M/150=5,333,333,33/clone.
ISK from district sale of clones is 100K, from biomass payment its 80K. Anyway you slice it the NPC clones are at a premium. And would quickly destroy profitability over time.

To mess their stuff up. The amount you can get in ransom would be worth it. People in eve ill sometimes pay the cost of, and then some profit, to protect their assets. Gotta remember, the SI's being installed on planets cost 100 mil each, so a pirating corp could potentially earn 100 mil and then some off attacking and ransoming districts. |
