The best way to do it is "work on suits and setups, get refund, have a look at PC sandbox for week, then go to start PC". As for smoothness on release day, not that crucial. CCP caters for a long term audience with the sandbox politics and stuff. The important part is making the sandbox work and making the players generate endless content like in EVE. That takes a good long time.
CCP is not looking for a series game; there should never be a Dust2. Ccp is trying to do what counter-strike did with its lifespan. The difference is people will play dust for the sandbox and CS for the competitive play.
Read the OP again, everything except PC May 6th, then PC May 14th - good. What CCP is doing - not so much, and just strange tbh.

The new suits, skills, interfaces and graphical and sound improvements on the 6th.
New guns, maps, and domination on the 14th. |

Domination = Team based King of the hill Basically, IIRC it's the skirmish variant where five cannons are controlled by one letter, which does work out (if you think about it) to be a pretty cool take on King of the Hill. |

Well, what kind "testing" does PC even need? PC is just another game mode, except the stakes are higher, it's biggest impact will be on the economy, and it'll take far more than a week to see what kind of impact it actually makes. You're thinking too hard about this. I'm pretty damm sure that the EVE players here will find some new and exciting way to completely break the first iteration in some completely unforeseeable way - so, basically, business as usual. |
