They need to port this to PS3, and make it a fully integrated cross-platform game.
And have it integrate with DUST in such a way that there are atmospheric fighters, space-based fighters and hybrids capable of operating in both. Different flight models for each, preferably, and they could cheat a little with "fly high/low enough and go into a "transition" animation - it would work basically the same way that the transitions worked in Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron on PSP (but with larger environments on both ground and space ends of the flight model) |

Nope.
Want to see this before DUST has abandoned the PS3. It might be a year or two down the road, but I'm hoping it's on the shorter end of the scale.
Although as a separate game, it would be legit for it to be PC/PS4 exclusive even while DUST is still running on PS3... so maybe. But I'd rather see the widest target market possible on something like this - consoles need more (good) space games. It's practically an untapped market. |

Awesome.
I always assumed the mystery game they keep hinting at would be an RTS where us mercs are the assets, but maybe it's been this thing all along. |

It was built as a prototype for the Oculus. Take out the Oculus and you take out a major portion of the fun.
PS3 won't work with the Oculus. PS4 won't work with the Oculus.
Sony may, however, rip off the idea behind the Oculus and implement their own at some point. This won't happen for a while because they want to see if it is, in fact, successful on PC first.
The game could be entirely functional without it, of course, but I think that defeats the spirit behind the project somewhat. |
