Lots of games announced for PS4 are also coming to PS3 at the same time. I don't see any reason why Dust couldn't be released on PS4 as essentially the same game plus graphical improvements and allow play with PS3 players. There's no reason both versions couldn't co-exist for several years while players gradually move over to the newer system. I don't see how else you could practically accomplish it.
I also found it curious that CCP were not releasing the Dust TV spot until late in the year. Something else is also likely to be released around that time, yes? Maybe a coincidence. Maybe not. |

If CCP can get PC players playing in the same game as PS3 players, what makes you think they can't get PS3 players playing in the same game as PS4 players? 
Also, @ OP, EA aren't shown on that developer/publisher graphic, yet Battlefield 4 is confirmed for PS4. CCP have near confirmed Dust will be on PS4 at some point anyway. It doesn't mean anything. |

As ccp stated at fanfest, ps3 has alot of life left and they intend to make the most of it.
Also, if it were to move instantly to ps4 it would cut alot of people off as not everyone will be getting a ps4 on release (I waited 3 years to buy a ps3).
They will wait until ps3 is almost fizzled out and then they will move to ps4, when ps3 is no longer supported (like ps2 and original Xbox)
Dust having an extended life on PS3 has no bearing on when Dust goes onto PS4 though. There's no way CCP are going to say 'From date X, Dust 514 will cease to be playable on PS3 and will become available on PS4'. You can't kill a game like that and expect the entire community to just rush out and buy a new system. Nor will they be able to split the player base over two systems. The only way to do it is allow the community to play across the same server using different hardware - just like they're already doing, right?
In that case, when Dust releases on PS4 doesn't have much bearing on the PS3 version. They could release Dust PS4 in 2015, or this year, it would be up to them to decide (meaning they can let Dust on PS3 continue as long as they are happy for it to do so). I would expect a PS4 version sooner rather than later. 1) the less competition it has the more likely it can gain players on PS4, 2) as a cross-platform game it will have certain limitations imposed on it that games native to the PS4 won't. In that case the sooner they get Dust on the system the less it will be affected by comparison to other, native shooters.
Personally I'd expect to see Dust on PS4 in the next 18-24 months, perhaps even sooner.
