Short version: They dont have any but thats OK Long: Ok, so you are a new player with your militia gear and with 350.000 SP(!!!).
Exited and prepared to learn the game. Than comes the cold water: in the first minute on the battlefield you have been killed about 4 time But why? Am I so bad or just need some pratice? NOOOOOO. Because CCP DONT HAVE ANY matchmaking system. They just throw the players together in the same server without any balance. Yesterday I had about 10 game in a row where a Vacuum Cleaners and What the French squad were together against noobies whos had 1mill SP top. Then the next game a What a French squad with a Seraphim Initiative squad? WTF??? If CCP has any balanced matchmaking system then this two squad could play only against each other. I was upset first. This top players has 8-9mill SP what is extremly high against beginners (there is some player who's need 3 headshoot with sniper rifle before they die... in scout suit). Its ok, I understand this is only beta, probably this will change... I thought first but then realized this won't change in the future. Why? Because CCP isn't EA or Activision who's want you to feel that noone stronger than you and you are the most amazing player in the earth just because you entered the game. CCP give us a univers with the lore and game system but after that they prefer to stay behind the stages and let us form and shape the rules. That why they gave us corporations where we can learn from other and (if we want) deffend the weaks. CCP dont care about pug games, they want everybody to be in a corporation because corporations can choose opponent on they're level.
Is it fair that you (as a beginner) have to face against players who has 25-30x more SP than you? I dont think so, but life not always fair so as EvE universe. So, they have a huge benefit because they registered earlyer in the game (and passiv SP started to flow). You have to be super smart if you dont want to repeatedly die and lost all your ISK. You will sweat blood to kill one of them (on early lvl) and you have to accept that there is some player or situation where dosn't matter how smart, how neat you are... you just cant beat them (like duna2002 who's jump in his invulnerable proto tank and noooone can scrash while he farming SP and WP).
Welcome to Dust

Look. if you see no examples of how well can you perform in the game, you will have less motivation to advance. It is a cruel method but it works. Sort off... Weekend gamers will be deterred (plz don't feel offended ). The dedicated ones will stay...
I agree this game needs more active players to stay alive... I think CCP want's to go through beta with more hardcore players so there is no training mode beside trial by fire. This way DUST Beta can play out at highest RPMs rate possible. Luring more casual players will come later. In the final release imho.
EDIT: My KDR is ...lousy... |

"Luring more casual players will come later."
yeah.
gimme a few months to play and THEN bring in more of the talentless c average latchkey kids.
makes total sense. not doggin on your post, but the idea that this is gonna work, CCP must stand for "completely crazy people" because if you intend to bring in more casuals LATER they are only gonna be more and more behind the 8 ball.

from the videocast yesterday (jump to 16:05), they said that there would be e-sports arenas where you could do training or practice or types of battles that you would not find in a war zone.
in the chromosome build so far, there are only warzone battles and it makes no sense to have training on the battlefield. |

Peace B Hmm...you should not complaint about easy kills and WP I see you panic much about ccp reseting you to dust You see CCP CEO admitted in an old interview in 2009 that CCP is a bunch of crazy ppl doing crazy things... http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=1153056
Quote:K: Is DUST just the beginning of a whole set of modules you want to add to Eve? Maybe there will be a RTS on top? CCP: Well, you know we are crazy. And we have crazy ideas of course. But for now, we need to focus on this step. |

CCP's solution is to draw away the experienced players away from the public matches with planetary conquest and faction warfare.
Planetary conquest and faction warfare are coming very very soon....lets see if it works before we start complaining and coming up with our own solutions. |

Peace B tutorials are coming, but they are for the open game, not now which may seem backwards but the game isn't finished yet so just deal with it. |

No MM system works with the low population this beta has, unless you are willing to wait for tens of minutes for people in your skill/SP/gear range. |

Yes, I think this solution will solve this "problem". But as I said before, I dont mind this situation. Yeah, it hurts at the beginning and repeatedly slap you on face but forge us tuff and clever. I hate the lack of matchmaking system and at the same time I love it For this duality I love CCP. |

There needs to be a matchmaking mechanic that automaticly gives new players a chance to learn and enjoy the game right off the bat or Dust 514 will die off, period, end of story. Or, it sticks around for a decade, 500 players scattered across the globe, and is ridiculous from the Eve end of things. This game ROCKS. The time to fix this is NOW, not when every potential new player has said, "I tried and quit." I get killed all the time and come back, but I am not the norm. Most of the guys I got to try Dust went back to CoD in less than 5 matches. Matchmaking, plz, not every noob wants to be a Nanite specialist and go 0-10 every match for his first 8 weeks (!) |
