It dawned on me recently that while it looks intimidating its also way too god damn bright. If you're in "doom mode" this brightness is constantly disrupting your ability to track targets.
Consider a dusk setting where the ground is red. Then consider your opponents name is red. Then consider the muzzle flash engulfing your entire screen is red. Starting to see the problem? It's not impossible to deal with, but it is unnecessarily annoying. From an artistic standpoint however, I understand the weapon needs to "look" dramatic.
That kind of intimidation should be on the receiving end however, not the user end.
So how about a compromise? Tone down the brightness on the muzzle flash, but increase the environmental lighting from it? Or perhaps you could light up the tracer rounds bright orange/red instead? That would definitely give it some intimidation factor when its tearing across the battlefield. Especially when the assault HMG variant is used at range. |

Most heavies are spending too much sucking and crying rather than actually objectively assessing legitimate gameplay issues that don't need to exist.
Get rid of the little issues like this, and even something that isn't "ideal" or "top tier" becomes much more bearable to use. |

It affects everyones aim.
Some people are just more conscious of it while it is happening.

If you can't get used to the flash, maybe the laser rifle would be your better pick as a weapon...
Besides after they nerf the flash, you will still find out it wasnt the flash that made it impossible to aim for you, next up Nerf Aiming!
Since you've taken this thread as an opportunity to talk trash like a complete moron, how about a money match once gladiator mode hits?
1v1, single match for $100.
Let's see who can aim under pressure, kiddo. |
