Do you need to be repaired or is your own armor repairer/shield booster enough for surviving? |

Shield tank that is burning: **** Fuck **** repair me or I'm going full power to the nearest supply depo.
Armour tank that is burning: If you feel like it, go ahead.
Else; keep the infantry alive to they can kill those pesky AV guys. |

Ok, it's the dropship...thinking about making somehow useful.

i've a armor tank so i always keep a armor repairer, small one, you NEED TO HAVE THAT or you are equally dead. This thing really saved me a lot of times. |

Edit: Because I want my dropship to be a logibro.
Don't waist you time or SP's.
Nice thought though.
LAV with this skill in it would be more worth the SP but even then with all the Proto AV out, pfff. Forget about it! |

I have always heard these referred to as Spider [insert name of vehicle type here]. When used properly, they can be very effective. I am not a hard core tanker, I play around with them sometimes.... But I have an awesome corpmate that ran a spider tank behind me for a couple matches and it was awesome. Between my own reppers that I was running and being remotely repped, I was pretty much invincible. That being said, the tank/lav/dropship that is doing the remote repping cannot handle a lot of damage, so you have to make sure to keep it alive. A dropship would have the advantage of being able to get the kitten out of dodge quickly and swooping back down between lulls of AV. Unfortunately, dropship pilots get kittened on WPs, so there isn't much of an incentive to run vehicles like that. |

I play with a Tanker in my Dropship. I act as a shield for him. If he is getting hammered i'll fly in and most of the time people target me because Dropships are easir to hit, slow and weak. But I can suck up a good few swarms/forge then bug out. So effectively taking damage from him to myself and giving him time to escape/rep |

Spider tanking should be proximity based once the module is activated because we don't have Auto-Pilot like in EVE.

Basic rule of Dust, if you're in a dropship, you don't get WP.
So a nice sentiment, but you won't be paid for running a repping dropship. Also, you're a giant frickin' target calling out to be shot. The chances are, people will be like: "Hey, dropshit! Free WP!, Oh hey, there's a tank there too..."
So you're doing yourself no favours, and if the tank is whittled down, you're probably already dead in the dropshit. |

I had a corpmate shield rep my tank and I hardly tipped under 4k of my 6k Shields (Thanks Shouper)
The only problem is that if an enemy spots the dropship and shoots it out of the sky. That happens a lot.... |

I drive shield HAV/LAV, and some of my corp mates and I have experimented with shield transporters on LAVs and other tanks. It is quit effective and does help to keep me engaging the front lines (where ever they may be) for a lot longer. The problem is that in order to equip a transporter you have to sacrifice either a shield booster or shield extender on your shield-based LAV/HAV, which, as a consequence, drastically reduces the survivability of the logi vehicle. In less complicated terms it is very difficult to keep such a vehicle alive, although I did have some successes with heavies driving my logi LAVs while I was in my tank.
I have never attempted to experiment with logi DSs, but perhaps this would be the way to go if you can make it more survivable than my attempts.
Good luck. |

Dropship pilots can get a good amount of WP, but only if the gunners can get kills. Also if the pilot is squad leader he/she can use any orbitals earned, and to really maximize WP the person who calls in the orbital should get back into the dropship before the orbital hits so then everybody else in the dropship can get vehicle kill assists, which are 42 point a piece if a defend order is set on the dropship. |

Edit: Because I want my dropship to be a logibro. Don't go on that direction. For now Remote Repair in this game suck, and it is very hard to achieve profit for doing so. In critical situation everyone would be happy to get some extra HP - like when your teammate HAV is engaging another HAV, that few HP could be live and dead situation for him. But as I mentioned early, this mechanic is not something easy and it need a lot of CCP love to be something that you as "HAV pilot" can rely one. |
