Reallocation to racial vehicle skills only*
As it stands if someone wanted to fly minmatar dropships or Amarr tanks then they'd be given two choices:
Either 1. Waste a few million SP into skills for the few currently existing racial vehicle types which they otherwise would Never want
Or 2. Abstain from playing Dust for the next year or two till Amarr and Minmatar vehicles and skills are released.
Didn't a dev say that part of the reason skills are being reallocated is to be fair to those players who specced deep into say Caldari but only because it was the only thing available to them at the time? I mean, if a player Wants to fly dropships or drive tanks then they need to spend tons of SP into one of these races that ultimately they may not want to use at all. Aand after Uprising since their ground-game skills are separated this effectively removes half of their SP... Or doubles the amount it would take to have the same strength character as now)
Your thoughts?

You could always go with option #3 and build your merc's infantry skills while waiting for new vehicles.
Like I said, and as you well know that will be years down the road. And to anyone hardly interested in the infantry aspect of Dust this is hardly an appealing decision. |

That's exactly what I said, just applied to vehicles as well. IMO they should do both.
What if you really only want to be a mimn heavy and you only enjoy playing as heavy.
So you need to wait a year for them to release that suit and or sink tons of points into Amarr just to play for any amount of fun in the mean time? That's pretty weak from CCP |

So with that in mind, the core skills for the HAV's currently would be the best things to invest in with your SP when you are thinking about either amarr or minmatar vehicles. Although, you could say the turret skills would be mostly useless as you might want to use the new auto cannon based large turrets, or pulse laser turrets whenever they add something like that for the new racial vehicles. While I wouldn't say the current turret skills would be a waste, they would just be more options for you with the other HAV's.
Maybe down the road when CCP gets around to adding a per level bonus for the HAV's skills it will matter, but its not that big of an investment when most of the skills are core skills that will help with just about any other vehicle.
Well for all you know they're adding per level bonus in two weeks with this massive skill revamping deal |

Even with the crystal ball of sisi and all of the changes on there now there is only so much that can be figured out and on there so far it has not been added yet.
I can't imagine how they could have not thought of this. Nor can I think of a single good reason not to afford players this convenience. Perhaps someone should ask a dev at FanFest.
Really though for anyone opposed, what are the arguments against such a specific reallocation ? |

DS wise if you went ADS / Logi lv1 and (racial) DS lv3 its only 1 mill tops if I`m not mistaken its only 500k s DS wise it should be fine. tank wise? that's a bit more but idk if its enough to raise concerns.
Would you be upset if you were to be missing 1 million SP? Most people would. mil is a lot. |
