Please explain why you thought the booster would raise your SP cap, providing references to the misleading information.
I can put a booster on assuming that it will give me wings and rainbow lasers I can shoot out of my mouth but I'm unlikely to get a refund when that doesn't happen. |

Why you might ask? because i was under the impression that if i bought a booster, turned it on and went about my business playing, i would receive an SP cap boost.( i have both active and passive) so i tested it, waited until i hit the SP cap without a booster, and turned them on. guess what? still getting 1500SP a match!
So you waited until you hit the cap...
and now you're getting 1500SP per match, despite having already hit the cap?
If that's true, then I agree that it's broken... but it's broken in your favour. 1500SP is the amount you should get pre-cap with a booster. |

What? before i was getting 1000SP so bought a booster to raise the SP ceiling so i would receive the normal amount SP per match. now im only getting 1500SP which is the max you get after hitting the ceiling with a booster
You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the booster does or, if you know how it works, difficulty communicating. I'd quite like to help but I can't see this thread becoming anything constructive given your refusal to justify your mistaken impressions. |

Wait, no, we're both communicating poorly. I told lies about the booster upthread. |

Thinking about the booster as something which "raises your cap" is a poor model for predicting how it will work.
The best way to imagine boosted SP in my opinion is to consider it something separate to active SP.
Every week you can earn 190400 active SP, no matter what. Once you hit this amount, you are capped.
If you activate the booster, this 190400 active SP cap doesn't change, you just earn an additional 50% of the SP which does not contribute towards the cap.
So, if you activate the booster after having already earned 100000 active SP, you have 90400 active SP to gain before hitting the cap and only this amount will grant you bonus SP.

actually quite the opposite, Active boosters give a .5% increase in SP earned in matches, as well as boosting the WEEKLY SP CEILING BY 100K+ im having a hard time understanding how this isnt communicated clearly in my OP
They boost the weekly ceiling by 50% of the amount remaining until you hit the cap. |

Vin Vicious wrote:Vin Vicious wrote:ok, well i failed i guess. but this is not how it was described in the thread i read a month or two ago. it was described as raising the ceiling from the original cap to 250K-ish, not counting the Bonus SP as a separate entity this
I failed too, got myself confused and managed to post nonsense.
I'd be keen to see that thread because it's entirely possible and even likely that devs miscommunicated about how these work. |
