I have a problem with the upcoming build in the fact that the Caldari race is left out of having a good light standard weapon to use for the assault and logistics classes.
The Minmatar recieve a flaylock pistol while they already have the md, hmg, & smg. The Gallente recieve a plasma cannon along with the AR & Shotgudn. The Amaar get a Scrambler Rifle to go along with thier op pistol & the also have the laser rifle.
While the Caldari only have a forge gun with no heavy suit to use it, a sniper rifle & those stupid nova knives that no one uses.
Where is the Caldari weapon this is not fair at all.

And very low ammo in total. You really HAVE to get that headshot to stand a chance against anyone more than a scout and then you're going to struggle to hit those quick movers. Nothing, absolutely nothing can be done to nerf the scrambler pistol because it would become absolutely useless. |

So now weapons are OP if they can kill when used correctly and with good skill?
Maybe CCP should implement an anti-aim assist that automatically moves a player's reticle away from the enemy if they start to do too well in a game. |

The ammount of AR elitism in this game is pretty ridiculous. Not sure if it's a CoD thing, because I've been playing FPS since Doom 95, Unreal, and Quake Arena and never seen this kind of butthurt before. They're usually the ones QQing about everything in game that isn't an assault getting more kills than them. They cry that tanks are OP when they try to kill a gunlogi with a militia swarm launcher when they should be using a forge gun or at least flux grenades, but have 0 SP into AV, they whine about heavies (post nerf) being OP when they try to fight them head on. Hell, I've even seen some so disillusioned that they think an AR can out damage a shotgun. I'm not necessarily worried about longevity of Dust, I'm concerned about CCP trying to cater to these morons to keep the money flowing in.

Hell, I've even seen some so disillusioned that they think an AR can out damage a shotgun. I'm not necessarily worried about longevity of Dust, I'm concerned about CCP trying to cater to these morons to keep the money flowing in. True that again. Many people QQ about that stuff because their so used to ARs being the all around murder weapon, and they're not used to the fact that 1.they will need to adapt to certain situations and 2. they can't win purely based on skill. They think anything they can't kill with their chosen weapon is OP, and since that chosen weapon is the AR, anything that can't be killed with an AR right off the bat is OP. While I use AR, I know that sometimes I will die, and next time I will have to either use a new fit or approach the situation differently. These people think running into battle without proper planning will work every time. And also, common games have dumbed tanks down to the point where one rocket would take them down, and players aren't used to the relative power they posses. I really hoped that this kind of game would filter out the stereotypical BF and CoD crowd, but instead, it seems like they want to make this game another CoD clone. I just hope CCP doesn't do anything stupid. |

Spot on! Back in 2006-08 when I heard Dust was going to be a console exclusive, this was the first thought in my head:
"Is the console playerbase mature enough to handle a game of this magnatude?"
CoD is the cancer that's ruining creativity in the FPS genre, the only chemotherapy to it- MAG, has faded to obscurity and both playerbases (along with EVE's) have all come to Dust. It's safe to say that CCP can't just appeal to one fanbase without pissing the other ones off, but I still worry in the back of my mind. If Dust gets sucked into the "Cult" of Duty, we all might as well quit FPS. |

I came for an intriguing, player run game with a complex economy, political intrigue, and a helpful, mature playerbase, all while sitting in the comfort of my living room, behind the barrel of a gun, and never having to look at a single spreadsheet. Sure, CoD is a good time killer when you want to just screw around and bathe in the tears of children, but I want DUST to be different. |

First of all this thread wasn't started to diss other weapons and their users.
If you look at the subject it clearly says NO GAUSS RIFLE.
I am a AR user but I don't have anything against the scrambler pistol or any other weapon.
So could you guys please turn my thread back in the right direction because I'm trying to get CCP to notice that their are a lot of people who are pro Caldari and would like to see the Gauss Rifle in the upcoming build.
I said one weapon was op as a joke and everyone got all offensive like a bunch of winy little girls. If you wanna have this discussion take it back to general disscussion not on request and feedback. |

OP starts a thread about Gauss Rifle, talks about pistol being OP to derail his own thread, and then complains that the thread has been derailed.... seems legit. |

2 things: 1. The scrambler pistol isn't OP, it takes a good player to use it and only then its effective. But that's true for any weapon, only that noob players can use them too, but with less effectiveness. The scrambler pistol is the weapon that rewards accuracy the most.
2. The shield favoritism tells me that Caldari are very much loved inside CCP. In fact if I remember correctly, the entire trailer team are Caldari. |

Ok, let's talk about the OP then - it is a shame that the gauss rifle doesn't look to be coming at the start of uprising but SiSi is rarely 100% accurate in predicting what new stuff is definitely coming, so who know? Maybe it will come May 6th. If it doesn't, I'm sure it won't be too long down the road, so just hold your horses a little longer. |

Holy hell... I actually saw posts about people finally recognizing what's going on!
+1 to the OP. I reall want to see the Gauss Rifle too. We need more general purpose/utility weapons like the gallante AR around. Variety of utility weapons is a beautiful thing.
+1 to Cosgar and slypie11, for recognition that some assaults cry about every other weapon killing them (which lead to them getting nerfed or handicapped).
But don't let the OP's post derail! lol
The Gauss Rifle is probably going through the balancing ringer right now.
I for one, wouldn't mind some weapon types being exclusively Officer-level. If the gauss rifle is just THAT good, that they aren't sure they want to release it on Uprising, just make it a rare officer drop.
I just know it'll be a boss weapon. Capable of serious mid to semi-long range sniping, and it's railgun-style operation ensures damaging impact power, at almost any range.
It has "OP" written all over it. I don't blame them for hesitating to release it. I say make it an officer-level weapon, just so we can still have it on May 6. Then make the weaker more balanced variants available later. |

Gauss Rifle needs to come with larger maps, and a range buff to Sniper Rifles, Railguns and Lasers.
Gallente AR has short-mid coverage, Scrambler Rifle has similar range, Minmatar Rifle has slightly longer range with higher damage falloff, and Gauss has the best range and good accuracy at the cost of fire rate or damage or something. Sniper Rifles need to be comfortable about out-ranging other guns, Lasers need a slight buff so the Gauss Rifle doesn't outclass them and make them obsolete for mid-long range combat, and if any AR equivalents can outrange tanks, we have a serious problem.
EDIT: Also, as someone who doesn't use them, and who only rarely gets killed by them, Scrambler pistols aren't OP. Skilled players are OP, and there's no amount of nerfing that can ever fix this "problem" you're having with them. |

I know that but I'm basing this off of the fact that CCP's Wolfman didn't mention it as one of the new upcoming weapons in the recent merc cast. He only mentions the Scramber Rifle, Plasma Cannon, & Flaylock Pistol. |
