Alright, so here's some questions for you Jenza, and I'm putting this in a public format rather than e-mailing you because this way there's a paper trail if you don't make good on it.
a.) How communicative are you honestly going to be with the community as a whole when certain issues arise?
b.) Are the opinions of your corporation/alliance going to weigh more heavily than someone's who is not part of it?
c.) Are you going to touch on issues you have absolutely no experience with; for instance, a certain play-style component like particular dropsuit specializations?
d.) What measures are -you- going to take to ensure the CPM doesn't turn into another free trip to Iceland and that it actually performs as intended, not just by your actions but by your fellow council members?
e.) What are your personal objectives for the CPM? To be more specific, what's at the top of your priority list as far as what needs to be changed and/or added/removed from the game to make it better? |

jenza aranda wrote:Until i get a proper hands on with the new build, thats a tough question to answer as the next build changes a lot. It would be silly for me to advicate a change in this current build when the next one is coming so soon and not all of its features are announced. I do, however, wish to avocate the strengthening of the link between dust and eve to be more than eve players pressing F1 and some text appears on their screen. Making the Dust-eve link more interesting is something i think is very important for the game. Other than that getting the game more exposition and doing community and charity events is also something im planning.
There are still things that you can have an opinion on that don't have anything to do with Uprising, is the thing.
Faction Warfare was a major let down (at least to me) being as the only way to participate in it is through Corp Battles, essentially FORCING the player to have to join moderate-to-large sized corporation in order to participate. Sure, you could get you and ten of your closest buddies to do it, but the issue with that is that people have lives outside of the game. There's absolutely no guarantee that all of the members of a small corporation are going to be online at once in order to participate in a single corporation battle, let alone many.
This game appeals too much to the "teamwork" aspect of Dust 514, and not nearly enough to the lone wolves. I don't say this in terms of fittings or specializations so much as the features for the lone wolf haven't been getting better - in fact, they've been getting WORSE. There aren't enough options for the Lone Wolf to partake in key game features, with Public Matchmaking being the only damned thing you can really do.
Uprising will have Planetary Conquest, that's cool - but how does that affect the Lone Wolves? Not everyone who plays Eve Online is in a player corporation and the same goes for Dust 514. We shouldn't be forcing players to have to have to join a corporation to get any semblance of gameplay features beyond Public Matchmaking.
Now the important part:
With Corporation Battles being the only way to participate in Faction Warfare and Planetary Conquest being the revolutionary aspect that makes Dust 514 stand out above all the other FPS games, with all of it's lasting consequences and immersion.... Here's what's going to happen.
Power Blocs. EVERYWHERE.
A corporation/alliance can hold as much territory as they can control - so if a large corporation (300+ members) can maintain a large enough amount of territory (being as Corporation Battles are now 16 v 16) there is absolutely NO SHOT IN HELL for the smaller corporations. Being as smaller corporations have no shot in hell, they're forced to merge with larger alliances (like my corporation did with War Ravens, incidentally enough).
This leaves two types of players: The Lone Wolf Rebel, who plays the game solely for his own interests and wants to get the most out of the game but can't because there simply aren't enough features that apply to him....
And the Corporation Jockey. The random bee in the hivemind of Power Blocs that own territory and get everything with little conflict/effort because of the sheer amount of numbers.
Essentially, what this game is going to turn into (at this rate) is exactly why Eve Online Null-Sec is STAGNANT.
We need more diverse features that apply to ALL players, not just the Corp Jockeys. Core Gameplay is what this is all about as CCP keeps barking "once we get core gameplay out we can work on other things" - but the Core Gameplay is all of the things that make Eve Online bad in all the right places. The sovereignty mechanic is a good concept but no-one likes trying to make a name for themselves against the tidal wave of other players who already own everything. |

Hello, Please remember that posting personal information within the forums is prohibited. We would recommend our players to read the forum rules carefully before posting.
Oh, well with that logic how are we supposed to get in touch with the CPM through any means other than the OP Dust 514 mailing system? |
