remove the floor from the MCC, so that players have to drop in to combat. This would prevent players using the safe MCC for skill point farming, where they have no intention of playing a match. |

If we accept the assumption that players should be forced into combat, removing the floor of the MCC is still a ridiculous approach to solving the problem when so many other potential solutions exist.
Why on earth would you make a modification to the game which cannot be suitably explained by game lore when there are alternatives which work just as well?
Hi, I'm the designer of the Mobile Command Centre. You'll notice this model has no floor because LOL we have no idea how to design vehicles with the sole purpose of allowing strategic placement of troops and feel like forcing your troops to be placed willy nilly all over the damn show. |

Of course players should be forced in to combat, why else are they there? Game lore is not relevant to the existence of a floor on the MCC. As this game is not a simulation, there is no need for a floor. As for your design quote, why do you think the floor is there, to allow mercs to have a coffee and a chat during games? There is no need for it, it encourages skill point farming, and standing around doing nothing. |

Of all alternatives to the AFK problem, you pick removing the floor as an option? We might as well remove the option to spawn in the MCC while we're at it.
CCP did say that the Uprising update will address this in some way, so just wait and see. |

So what, we just spawn out of thin air? Not to mention the fact that we can't see right when we spawn, so we'd probably hit the ground and die before we could activate our enertia dampeners. |

It could be that the floor is actually a shield and when you spawn you can only stand on it for 10 seconds before it makes you fall. There would still be an opening in the middle for jumping sooner. Ths lore behind it would be that, companies were tired of paying Mercs to do nothing; they felt they were getting robbed of their ISK. So they implemented this new floor so that you either fought for them, or died for failing to do what they are paying you to do. |

I would like to see clones "ejected" from the MCC like they were dropped in the Dust opening trailer. If I was a paying customer hiring mercs to take a district, I would want that they die on the ground not in my MCC. |

Why not put a timer in the MCC? You have to drop within 10 seconds or die. It sucks to play a pub match and when it goes bad about a third of the way through, people start camping the MCC. I'd quit the match if not for the fact that I wouldn't get any SP or ISK from it - but I'd lose more from dying in dropsuits and equipment than I would gain if I played out the match. |

Terrible ideas for how to solve the AFK problem:
-This one. -Many others, most of which are never going to be posted because, like this one should have, they fail the pre-posting "is this really a good idea?" test.
VALID solutions to the problem of MCC AFKers:
-Make the MCC floor open up as a "forced drop" mechanic if someone stays in there too long. -Make the inside of the MCC count as part of the redzone so you have 20 seconds to jump. -Rebuild the SP system to AKFing isn't rewarded like it is at present. -Plenty more, all of which still make sense after pausing for half a second to think "is this really a good idea?" |

Except most of them spell it "hi" instead, since it's a greeting, not a reference to being up in the air. |

Im not sure if this would be a sollution to afk farming and the like. Firstly keep the current sp and isk gain system but with a twist the isk and sp gain system could remain innactive untill you are within the wepon that you are carryings range of either an objective or enimy . And secondly the sp and isk gai system shouldent acctivate untill you leave either your ground base or mcc thus would stop people simply equiping sniper rifles and sitting in the mcc or ground base .
Thoughts? |

Thoughts? This would actually be unfair to Shotgunners.
A better (and more elegant) solution would be that while inside your team's redline area, you shouldn't be accumulating SP for time spent in the match. If you spawn on the MCC, or in a spawn behind the redline (if there is one), you have to be earning WP or move up before you get any SP for your "efforts".
The problem with this would happen when your team gets redlined, but even then, it might make teams push harder to break the redline, rather than giving up because of it. |

I can totally see how this could ve unfair to shotgunners but most of the shotgunners I know are front line soldiers or sneaky bas+ù*** scouts so tgey tend to get to their optimum range really quickly if it was based on the ootimum range of your wepon I think it would be fair for every one as it would encourage everyone to go out and fight where they should be. |
