i will mow you down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started playing air combat sims when I was 7. Come at me bro.
- Played F-15 Strike Eagle III when I was 5. Flew my first successful mission on it at 7. Realistic controls.
- At 10, I drew a crowd at the Smithsonian Institute being the first person to fly and land a Cessna-type plane in another flight sim.
- Ace Combat vet.
- AH-64 Longbow sim vet.
- Warhawk vet.
- Impressed Air Force pilots after flying mock combat and free fly missions in a simulator used to train F-16 pilots.
- Impressed remote control pilots after throwing the plane I was training on out of control on purpose, and regaining control a few seconds later. That day was also my first time flying a remote control plane.
And last but not least,
- Landed a Boeing (either 757, 767, or 777) at Narita airport (Japanese airport) in a flight sim arcade game.
Come at ME bro.
But no, seriously, I'd like to dogfight you sometime. |

I'm inclined to think the "fighters" they'll be showing us at Fanfest are probably just the "Assault Dropships" that people found in SIngularity.
Lighter, faster, with a pilot-controlled forward-mounted weapon turret. |

Ace Combat, The Belkan War
Ever since that, I have loved flying with beyond a burning passion.
Then I actually flew. Now I think I may be in love.
This game better not disappoint! |

This game better not disappoint! first flying game i've ever owned, IMO still the best i ever played (though to be honest, i haven't played a huge amount). After i played it, i went back and played the one before, it was pretty good too. I just wish fire of liberation was on the ps3, and that assault horizon wasn't that bad, played the demo and really disliked the new mechanics.
and let's not even get into the belkan war's soundtrack, it's unmatched, i used to just turn on the ps2, load the game, and use the music feature while doing other stuff. i lost count of how many times i replayed that game, damnit if only they put it on PSN, wait now i have to google it to see if they have/are.
and one of the best bits of music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKDzOnRydWk |

GIVE ME MOAR AIRCRAFT!!! For me, aircraft in the sky are part of what make me feel like I'm in an actual warzone. I mean, I love large-scale multiplayer games, but I love them even more when I can be providing support for the gun guys or taking out other aircraft. |

Completely agree. Nothing gives me more satisfication in this game then seeing a dropship being utilized effectively, even if its the other team. Cause you KNOW it takes teamwork, skill, and big ole balls to pull off right. |

Cause you KNOW it takes teamwork, skill, and big ole balls to pull off right. Exactly, though I still think we need the flight ceiling for those taken off. I mean, they could put out other aircraft without that restriction, but forcing aircraft to hang out that low just makes them childishly easy to shoot down. Part of how you defend yourself from AV in other games like this is flying up high enough that it's hard for them to hit you. You only come down to hit a target and then leave the area again. |
