Noob question.
Do the game render the enemy with latency compensation, is the shot calculated locally using hitbox detection or calculated at server?
I guess the simply way to ask is: should you aim ahead to compensate lag or not? |

From what i've seen, it does seem like the hit-detection is server side, like in the Battlefield series. So yes, aim a little ahead, but not as much as you would in BF42 with a 70ms ping. Just a little.
With that said, some weapons definitely have "flight-time", namely the Forge gun, and the tank turrets. Whether the hit-detection is server side or not, those need to be aimed ahead to compensate for the flight time of the projectile

OMW! Not this again... I love this game, but with 200ms + latency the likes of what we get here in the south of the dark continent, South Africa, everyone will have to run away from me and in a straight line. Even then victory is doubtful. I could buy the AUR gear with targeting assist... do you think this will help? I'm guessing games like Call of Duty MW II works the other way as I have no problem hitting targets there. I will try and aim ahead to see what I get, maybe I can learn to shoot +/- 3m ahead.
PS: Stop strafing, think of the developing and far away countries... ;) |

There is no AUR gear with targeting assistance. |
