Your friendly neighborhood drop pilot here, here to report a rather upsetting bug that occurred to me last night, of all times. I just got finished refitting a Grimsnes (I usually pilot the Prometheus, but I am on a budget) and went into a battle, full of vigor and enthusiasm. As I called in my ship, I was hopeful that our game would go well... but the time ticked on. The game took my ship AS IF it was summoned but I received no note that it actually came in, I did not see it get blown up, and I was thoroughly disheartened. My ship, which takes about 4-5 matches to fit up (more for my Proto drop ship) disappeared, used but apparently unused. As if the drop ship piloting role is not a difficult one already, disappearing ships compounds on it. Some other notable fails in design: the start button. While in flight, if you hit the start button, the ship PLUMMETS immediately to its death. Kind of a major design oversight?
KalOfTheRathi Talon Strike Force LTD 341	Posted - 2013.04.18 19:55:00 - [2] - Quote Inform [email protected] and see if they can return your ship. Probably best to note when and where it happened. Others have had some luck asking when the system totally messed up. I would not use that as a gauge for hope however. The worst they can say is no which is where you are right now. Good Luck.

I think that this is the real reason why we still have free militia LAV, when we should not have them from long time ago..

Excuse me? We have free 30K LAVs because the Bolas makes Half Million ISK flying bricks disappear? Unless they are crashing them or dropping them in the Red Zone that is. Besides saying that we shouldn't even have the cheap jeep, is that what you're saying? Because if you are, please make sure to print the schedule for the bullet proof bus so we can get from one end of the map to the other and back again.

Finally we get a decent map (not ashland) and he calls it in. We see his Bolas carrying his tank just barrel roll as it comes into view, no buildings anywhere near by, and crashes to the ground leaving his tank upside down. By the time we got a jeep in to try and flip it over, since you can't get in a tank that is upside down even though it looks like there is a door between the tracks, a handful of enemies show up and pop it with in moments. My brother lost 3 1.25Mil madrugars to RDV pilots in 1 match. 1st RDV drops tank 50 yards away in redzone where he suicided before he could get it back in the map. 2nd RDV flies around in circles before it drops it high-centered on the railing. The 3rd one he calls in does the usual flight from the other side of the map thinknig it can pass through solid objects... They were all called in open and safer places. Hell I have seen teammates in protosuits that had sets that cost as much as your DS insta die to poor collision graphics

The map with the high center building and the 2 scaffolds tends to drop ships kind of funky at the moment. Until it is fixed, I avoid dropping ships there. Yeah, I've been working my ship up, and it is damn near a mill isk now, but it is one tough sob and can really destroy people's dropsuits. XT Accelerated Missile launchers ftw

Anyone know a good site that hosts pictures (without the need to sign up?), I actually took a picture of one of the times it has happened

Chances Ghost Inf4m0us 42	Posted - 2013.04.19 16:32:00 - [11] - Quote it all depends on WHERE you call it in, dont call it in in a place thats likely to bug out the AI.... if it crashes... dont call it in when standing in the exact same spot, i haven't had a bolos crash on me in 6 months.

Im simply telling you its possible to avoid the failure, if you dont want to believe it then ill enjoy seeing your expensive crap fall from the sky
Kerithys The Endless Corporatin 0	Posted - 2013.04.19 22:23:00 - [16] - Quote yea i have had a few fails from drops. not many because i dont call them in often, and i dont skill into vehicles so it was only the free jeep. anyway, the most recent was earlier today. i got to call in my jeep, and stand there waiting as i watch the dropship fly towards me, fly straight past me, then proceed to fly in a big circle around me for 45 seconds before it finally dropped the vehicle in front of me. just as the tank and 6 infantry, who i assume also saw my noob drop pilot, came over the hill and annihilated me.
