Hi all, for the past 30 minutes or so the chop and lag in game has gotten progressively worse and before anyone says anything, NO it's not me being on too long as our whole squad and some team members were affected by it.
something starting to die on the server?
this last match was almost unplayable

What map was it? It's pretty common for Skim Junction and that one variation for "The Complex" with the flaming wreckage. |

naw, been on every map we've played so far, looks like a DDOS attack on something or a networking issue, I'll run a few feet, then be right back where I started again, I shot my HMG for a solid 2 minutes earlier and it never heated up, never used ammo and didn't even scratch the guy's shields, then I was all of a sudden out of ammo and dude wasn't in front of me any more.
Then the barrel flashed red, dark (hot/cold) for a while...then i ran about 50 feet around a building and I was right back where I started running from...
and my IRL job is IT
if it was just me?, but my squad and some teammates have been getting it too and we're from different areas of the country and different countries.

Your squad was playing in a region that was under populated. When the battle finder found you a battle (of whatever type) it did it by pushing the squad to a different region. Depending on the region you wound up in the lag can be of epic proportions and it affects the entire squad.
You might check to see which regions the various squad members were from. The squad leader sets the starting region I would suspect. At least it has in my experience while playing in the US but having an Australian SL. When the squad wanted to play in the US they promoted me to SL and we had full matches once again.
My understanding from various posts is that this is most common from the US as the other regional servers don't seem to get to bump out of their area. |
