hey. can we have a different system for active skillpoints? some people don't have enough time in the week to play and hit cap.
how about you combine active and passive skillpoints. combine the boosters. have it so that over a month you'd get the same amount of skillpoints as you would hitting the active cap. and have it so that playing games and getting WARPOINTS would increase the speed at which you hit your daily/monthly/weekly passive skillpoint cap. once you where capped for the day/week/month you'd get the standard 1 sp per 1 wp system.
difference here? all you farm-a-holics can still play and grind your skillpoints, but you just get them sooner for that day/week/month. everyone still gets the same amount at set times and dates.. unless you have boosters but those guys get the same amount as other booster players. |

I rather enjoy not feeling pressured to jump into the fray for more skill points as I like doing this thing called 'defending' . The game doesn't exactly reward defending an objective so much as it rewards taking them. |

If there is any change to SP acquisition, I think it should be that we gain active SP in the things we are actually using.
If I get a kill with a weapon, then the SP I would get from those WP goes directly towards the Operation skill for the weapon I used.
TBH, I think that is the only thing missing from the SP system. |

By that I mean that your weekly cap would get added to last weeks cap and so on. So if you don't play 1 week, then you can make it up the next week, or a year later. Your cap would be determined by how many days you charcters's been alive. Instead of the current system where any SP you don't gain is completely lost. |

You will probably stop playing then. We had a community wide message from CMDR Wang a while back letting us know that a life-time SP pool will be installed in the next major update. That would be Uprising (Presumably) |

yeah that's a good idea. why do anything else with your spare time when you can just dedicate it all to dust while you play catchup and try to hit your life time sp cap? |

It's not that simple. The current system we have now is actually just a temporary one but only CCP has all the data to determine which SP CAP system is most effective. |

I dislike this idea for the same reason I disliked your idea of removing the active cap altogether, it removes some of the incentive to actually play. We already went over this a month ago remember? This isn't EVE, it's a shooter that just so happens to share it's lore with EVE. |

Incentive to play = ISK and salvage and annihilating red dots. If you are saying this isn't like EVE and "it's a shooter" What incentive is there to play other FPS games like Call of Duty? |

They get these fancy things called "call signs" to boost their e-peens, and both CoD and battlefield have a SP system. You don't get to hit "Prestige" in CoD if you never play, I never certainly never did |

i don't really care if you dislike my idea, you're a vocal minority that presumably has more than enough time to chill on these forums and grind to high hell in dust.
so just to put it plainly, you'd rather a large chunk of the player base fall behind week after week- and if for some UNKNOWN reason they quit they'd be at an even bigger disadvantage if they even considered coming back to this game?
yeah nice input. here i'll even give you a like for that gem... because you know, who plays this game to have fun right? |

I haven't hit all of my caps, I only have about 4.6 mill SP, but I also don't expect to receive any SP for not playing. |

I thought the rollover was only to allow a player to make up a fraction of the SP from the last cap. If for example you don't cap week 1, you have an opportunity to make up 50% during week 2 in addition to week 2 regular limit. If you don't cap week 2 you forfeit rollover from week 1.
what's this about a lifetime SP limit? When did that happen? |

Seems some folks are misinterpretting the purpose of a cap. The purpose is to balance the gap in skillpoints between people that have time to play and people that don't.
Why cry about not hitting cap? The purpose of the cap is to keep everyone else from advancing too much ahead of you. |

I only prestige once per game (and then immediately regret my decision). I just don't like the five star general symbol. Most people will hit the max level and don't bother prestiging. The skill system only lets you unlock different weapons and attachments. And yeah, you would hit a cap. There really is no practical reason to prestige. At all. It's all cosmetic.
The only thing you get is uglier call signs and eventually golden guns that flag you as somebody who probably still lives in their mother's basement. Oh, and the ability to change your clan tag colours. Oooooh.
Sorry for getting a bit off topic. Or am I?
I'm just saying there is still incentive to play, even without active SP. You will get ISK and salvage from completing contracts. The only problem I forsee is that unless there is a complete SP reset, there will always be a huge SP gap between veterans and new players. |

why not just have everyone hit that cap guarenteed and give players who do play more their same cap to hit with some extra skillpoints afterwords? that'd do exactly what you're saying but would keep the gap even smaller. |

Only if that's a hard cap on what your character can accumulate and it's drastically lower than the amount required to max out everything.
I'd sorely hate to feel even more pressed to forsake skills that don't provide bonuses to a central goal for my build and thus feel the need to make secondary and tertiary characters just to experience more aspects of the game. Doing so to jump into those roles faster is one thing, doing so because it's the only way isn't all that fun. |

I semi agree, i would like to see skill points constantly increase so people play for the fun not for the grind
isk is what should separate players at the higher end skillpoints however should not matter that much after say 6 months of hitting your weekly cap if spent well additional skill points after that should be more about slight improvements to that same build upto say 1 year at that point additional should be all about variation or being able to use the next level of Tech (this brings isk back into play)
I expect to be playing with the new players to earn isk, however i also expect to be forced to use cheap / free fits with a slight edge due to skill points
Would be nice to see a cap on equipment coming in to each right based on the system, i know im going off topic however
Current example 1.0 - 0.7 systems - upto standard level equipment 0.6 - 0.5 Systems - upto advanced level equipment 0.4 - 0.1 Systems - upto proto level equipment 0.0 systems anything goes
We should be able to choose where we are going to fight isk will ofc increase as you move into other areas, but you know what your getting into |
