Ah dammit yet another cryptic post from the devs. Decypher if you can people I hope they confirm this so I can stop running in free suits trying to save up cash. I seriously doubt you'll get the aur/isk for any items you've already used/lost, only items still in your assets, keep running those starter fits bro. |

Cosgar wrote:Can someone find and quote that dev post hinting that trading will be available in Uprising? Based on the wording, it might mean officer items should be safe. I can probably find more posts saying it wont make it into uprising. I hope that means your right regarding my officer weapons. |

I agree, but it'll still be nice to get the isk from all that salvage. Oooh, all those protosuits I was never going to use, Sloth is a happy merc |

Covert Clay wrote:OK can some one please clarify? We WONT get back our AUR used on SP boosters. We WONT get back AUR spent on dropsuits and lost in battle. But we WILL get back our AUR spent on unused SP boosters? Does this mean the smart thing to do would be to load up on AUR gear before the respec so that we actually make AUR off this? Because from the looks of it if we don't spend our AUR on something then we would have the same exact amount of AUR after the respect as we did before even though the prices went up 2x. Or have I misunderstood? ... I think it's too late to "load up on AUR gear".
It's simple, people who bought a BPO for 10K aurum when they were cheaper shall now be getting 20k arum, because that's what they cost now, so basically they'll make a profit.
Iron Wolf tells me some stuff will see a price drop come Uprising though, so feel free to try and load up on AUR gear if you want, I can't guarantee you'll make a profit though.
Edit: Prices for this demonstration were made up. |

Tiluvo wrote:So what if some mercs get an effective bump in AUR? Say I bought BPO X for Y AUR, X is now worth 2Y. I had my AUR doubled, but I can't buy X for the original price anymore; all I can do is get what I had before the refund. That's true
Though iron Wolf says that many things will see a price change anyway, as in a reduction. |

From the looks of it, it's a more organized representation of the skill system for people not familiar with how EVE works or just find the classic spreadsheet style confusing. It's a great way to keep track of skills and their prerequisites while planning for a build that fits your play style at the same time. if anything, this is something that should've been done in EVE years ago. Except they said they're getting rid of prerequisites, so really a tree is pointless. It looks neater I guess. |

It looks neater I guess. no no no, eve has this dumb system where for no reason some skills need other secondary and triary prerequisites. Hopefully eve will be gone with them too some day because it's silly :P you need one skill to unlock the later skills in the tree. But you don't need wierd combos anymore, that is why eve never had a tree, it would work. Skills unlock skills all over the place. Now dust is a simple tree prerequisites system. I don't think it dumbs it down by any means Ahh, I see. |

Hmmm... What about the people who bought loads of militia BPOs back when they were 20 and 30 aurum a pop? Sounds like we could make a killing. I hate that you said it but since it's an auto refund it sounds like we are just going to get showered with free AUR, or they will patch it because we said something :P Nope.
Say you bought 2 milita shotgun BPOs for 30 each. They now cost 60 each. (just using random numbers BTW)
So come Uprising you'd get 120 AUR back. Assuming the prices stay the same, how many Militia shotgun BPOs do you think you could buy? Just 2, like what you originally had.
So yes, your AUR will get "doubled", but you won't gain much from it. I guess you could try buying something different, but the impact would be negligible at worst. There's no problem here at all. |

You are missing the point. Ppl bought militia BPOS for a small price befire ccp raised the aur cost of those (30->3000 or so aur). Some bought 20 of those . If ccp reimburse at 3000 aur per piece, those dudes will get 60000 aur. And they wont buy another 20 of those bpos. They may not even buy one as they probably dont need them anymore. Could result in 100s K of free aur for those fellas. I myself have 10->20 of those. Then those people made an investment and it's paying off. |

Did you guys (CCP) happen to playtest these changes externally? Because honestly, this skill tree UI looks like it's going to be terrible for new players. I say that because as it appears, it only expands the tree to the right for a skill you have selected? That's going to be a freaking nightmare if there's no option to expand all trees, with having to cycle through everything just to see what's unlocked. I mean, in the image, you have light weapon operation at 5, but you can't see the skills it has unlocked while on heavy weapon operation? That's bad.
Players unfamiliar with the system aren't going to have any kind of recognition cue to remember what they were going to skill up. If they remember "oh I was working on something proficiency, now where was that again..." they're going to have to cycle through everything until they find it again instead of see it at a glance.
I think this could have been a lot better if you didn't make those freaking number bubbles so stupidly huge and restrict screen space. QFT CCP seems to have given us a "crayon" ui. Totally optimized for the first 5 minutes of a new gamer and totally obnoxious for everyone that plays it more then 5 minutes. We are all stuck using crayons instead of useful tools for the skills ui. Ughh...They're going to include both, so you don't have to use the crayons if you don't want to |
