I suggest a system where EVE players can enter low orbit and fire their smaller turrets at DUST players on the ground, while DUST player fire back with skyfire batteries. There would be no timer, no WP, just complete and utter chaos. It would be EVE ships fighting to take down the batteries while DUST players throw everything they have at the hovering behemoth (or behemoths?) This could also lead to strategic placements of clones, where EVE ships can act as the MCC dropping clones and the clones can try to take down the turrets from the inside. Of course, the batteries would have to do significant damage, and there would have to be some limiting factor so EVE ships can't spam attack districts, and considering the size and strength of titans I don't know how that would work, but just putting this idea out there. |

Most likely, it would be to help out their DUST friends to secure a district, so they can get the passive bonuses and hopefully other things in the future. Another reason would be to screw around with the DUST bunnies. Or, relating to this post of mine, https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=668197#post668197, it would be to shut down larger skyfire batteries from intervening with battle going on overhead. I can't come up with a tangible item as a bonus, so you try. |

Look how freaking huge those turrets are! The barrels are at least 125mm! That's over four times the size of the Gau-8 avenger, the giant freaking cannon mounted on the front of the A-10. And the rifter will have three of them. No, man, you don't want to screw with EVE ships close up. Be glad they can only shoot at us periodically, and from far away.. Which is why I was thinking of our batteries like this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1d/DoraVSScarab.svg but three times bigger. Like, really damn big. |

Yes, mercs could set up contracts for EVE players. |

It seemed just as big or bigger compared to the ship you showed me. |

To put it in perspective http://www.flickriver.com/photos/tags/schwerergustav/interesting/ times three is a big bullet. Making it a railgun would be a BIG bullet going REALLY fast. |

Pokey Dravon wrote:I don't think a lot of Dust players realize what kind of game EVE is. There is no directly controlling your ship like a flight simulator, you just pick a direction and hit "go over there at this speed". Guns are directly player controlled either, you just lock onto a target and the guns keep shooting till you tell them to stop.
If EVE was an actual space flight simulator...maybe. But they're not going to drastically change the entire gameplay mechanic of EVE just to add a game mode to Dust. You want a game mode where EVE players lock onto something and fire? Go play a Corp Match. I don't really get what your talking about. I know how EVE works, I've played the free trial. Why would this keep the above mentioned mechanic from working? |

Pokey Dravon wrote:So the EVE players fly in circles, lock the cannons, and just endlessly bombard the orbital batteries the whole match? like I said, they could insert mercs, and do whatever else they do. I mean, isn't fighting in space the same thing? Circle around and shoot until one person dies. |

Pokey Dravon wrote:So what are the limitations of inserting mercenaries? Set spawn points? mercs could actually drop into zones, and EVE ships could upgrade clone capacity etc. In the end, most of the fighting would be going on inside the actual installation, so the choosing spawn location would be too OP. |

Those are not small turrets that you would expect to find on a Rifter... Get more accurate images. Wow. You commented on my post without hating. When I saw your name, I thought, oh **** it's Ulysses. Way to prove me wrong. |

tander09 wrote:There should be another way to destroying those ships instead of using those turrents. like using fighter jets to destroy them face to face and also, using them against the enemies turrents. Well fighters are coming, so why not. Also, MCCs will eventually be player paid, player driven vehicles. |
