If we can shoot all sorts of ammo into reds, is there any reason why we can shoot nanites into the wide welcoming butts of our dead blues to revive them? Just askin' |

Perhaps the nanites hitting your teammates at several hundred metres per second would do more harm than good?
EDIT: From a gameplay perspective, ranged triage would be annoying. |

EDIT: From a gameplay perspective, ranged triage would be annoying. What about a gun/equipment like scorpion. Grab them to pull them around a corner to safety - revive. |

No you see, I am very gentle with entry. I am a gentleman.

It would be unusual compared to what we're used to, but it would open up a whole bunch of new tactics. The nanite sniper, sitting on top of a building, reviving teammates. Could be very interesting. |

It would be used for triaging people in the middle of active combat zones just for warpoints, which would grief them more than anything else. If it were actually used practically, then triaging people who are behind the enemy would quickly become frustrating. The current triage mechanic exists as it does for a reason - if you kill someone and their teammates cannot get to them, then they should not be able to get up and shoot you. |

I was talking to my fellow G I A N T s about something similar. If any of you played Brink (and I don't blame you if you didn't. Fantastic game marred by poor timing and Bethesda...) you may remember something called the "Lazarus Grenade." Essentially, it was a one-time-use grenade -which here would fit in an equipment slot- that would revive any player in its splash area. This is something that could be very helpful for those times when the opposing side runs train through your blueberry forces. |

I rather have an injector needle that you stab dead people with and it restocks your current ammo, grenades, equipment and repairs armor. |

Simple fix for the first bit, have warpoints given for 'remote revives' in a similar manner and figure as to how it is with the repair arm. So to do it with consistency you really have to care about reviving or griefing. And with regards to griefing, this is pretty much encouraged/allowed in the EVE/Dust universe. It's half the fun for some and if CCP really cared to do away with it they'd remove the ability to TK, they'd ban corp thieves etc.
Saying that someone shouldn't be able to get up an shoot you unless their teammates can get to them assumes that the teammates would be able to remote revive in the majority of cases. That would not necessarily be the case, even with snipers who can only overlook limited parts of the battlefield if they want to stay alive. The truth of it is that a merc always needs to watch his back in this game due to the spawning mechanic, uplinks, ninja scouts, and the maze-like nature of a lot of maps. This would just be one more reason among many. |

Are you talking about a NI that acts like a Nanohive when it picks them up, or are you talking about cannibal nanites that you would inject into dead reddots to replenish your own ammo/armor/equipment?

So, you want to be able to stand behind cover, and keep rezzing a guy out in the open to grab your sixty points while the sniper gets 50 for killing him again and again.
Yeah, seems about right, except for the guy on the ground.
Once again, right now, there is a risk in going to revive someone, and the reward is the points when you get there. If you let someone rez from cover, there is no risk, therefore give them zero points. |

I take it you overlooked the bit about it working like the repair arm in terms of war points rewarded and capped. Snipers re-kill normally revived people all the time and get their 50 points, so no difference here.
With regards to zero risk, you could say the same about the repair arm or the nanohive. You don't have to be in immediate danger to gain points from them. Except just being on the battlefield in Dust is risk in itself since there's always someone coming up behind or around you. |

does not make sense that the nanite injection has to be done close to the corpse when the EVE technology is highly advanced and able to send nanites over distance but for some reason the nanites that repair the body have to be injected while all other nanites can be send via devices over huge ranges.
also I dont agree that this would be unbalanced. killzone has it too, it has like 3 meter range and the maps are much small than in dust and it works fine, no reason to not bring the superior gameplay design to dust. |

No risk with the repair tool? How about the fact that you don't have a gun out?
The hive is a wash, because it is an ammo resupply, the points are pretty limited, and you have to trade something else to carry it. So there is some risk, but that is why the points are lower.
Rezzing someone remotely carries zero risk. Therefore it should get you zero points. Which would mean no one would use it, and therefore it is a useless piece of equipment.
Now, if they gave you points for remote rezzing, then people would be doing stupid stuff just to get their 50 points, including allowing their teammates to get repeatedly killed without any harm to themselves. This is not a good game mechanic. |

The same risk would apply to the rez gun. Now granted that the distance it operates at would be greater than the repair tool (otherwise you might as well stab 'em), so 5 wp per revive seems like a decent trade-off, with an eventual cap if it's a piece of equipment. If it takes a weaponslot though...

You might even have to trade a weapon to carry a rez gun, so the risk would be even greater. It would be a 100% medic role, whereas the stabby action can be coupled with a weapon in another slot. In such a case a decent amount of wp might be justified.

Again, you place a hive and go about your merry business, it's zero risk, but you still get points for it. You place an uplink up on a mountain and get passive wp as snipers use it as a spawn point.

You don't get multiple lots of 50 wp to revive the same teammate now the normal way, so why would you for remote rez? |

Sure, let it take up a primary slot. I could go with that. If people want to be stupid and carry a weaponized version of equipment with a 10 m range. Let them go and gimp themselves out. More ISK for killing ill equipped fools.
