Just so you know with the given SP from the start of the game plus even a little bit of effort you can actually have a decent suits down in a matter of hours.
With the initial 250k you can get-
Assault Rifle Operation III- Yay you have the GEK (NOW DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT WEAPON IMBALANCE!) Weaponry III- YAYA you have enchanced damage mods (NOW DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT DAMAGE MODS) with a slight bit of grinding Racial Dropsuit II- Yeah you have a decent drop suit.
Now knowing this how can you complain about being taken out by better weapons and drop suits when you already have those things from the get go?
E,G- Caldari Assault Suit II= Unlocks Type II suits for shield tanking which for new players will increase survivability two fold Assault Rilfe Operation III and Weaponry III= you shoudl be on par with other players weapons now
Now after this you can specc any which way you like and can grind for ISK and SP very easily.
How can you complain when CCP gives you everything you need to be competitive? |

Addendum- You can also pick up any weapon operation skill with minimal effort after this seeing as you will still be in week 1 of your SP gathering cycle so with that in mind other skill worthing looking at are
CORE SKILLS
Shield Boost Systems Shield Enhancments Shield Control
Armour Enchancements Field Mechanics Armour Repair Systems
Laser Rifle Operation Sniper Rifle Operation
Combat Engineering
These are all ungodly useful get them soon and you will see a huge difference after week 1 of gameplay. |

I ran it first week after grinding isk. This game isnt that difficult you just need someone to show you how to do things. I fail to see how this is bad advice....
Im suggesting one way of speccing yourself to be reasonably competitive within a short amount of time. How would you guy suggest telling newer player to place thier stats so they dont get put off in the intial three days?
I would like to hear. I see all these threads about the game being too hard, or not being able to compete so I tried to suggest ways to get new players stuck and allocate skills. Perhaps I came off all L33t which im most assuredly not which was not my intention to do.

How did those get missed but you council someone to GEK it up right out of the gate?
They would be better off investing those GEK SP right into weaponry to get the 10% applied to all his weapons, instead of whatever bump the GEK can get.
Core skills, core skills, core skills.
They have that name for a reason.
This i basically a way to get guys playing the game and being competitive. You could max out those skill quickly off of the bat but you woudlnt have anything better than militia gear.
This is just a week 1 suggestion not a How To.... |

Field mechanics gives you 25% more armor. This is great on every suit and every vehicle you fit, even starter fits. Circuitry and Combat Engineering allow you to fit more items into your basic suits, allowing a brand new player to experiment within the starter fits, and risk very little ISK. Weaponry is almost an automatic starter to level 5. Take a militia assault rifle, add ten percent damage. Congrats, you now have that flat model GEK you were recommending him to buy. Except it is free, has twelve less rounds, and uses less CPU and PG to fit. And think, all you need is 49k SP to get into any of the type one suits. No need to jump to type II right off the hop with no modules, that is a recipe for disaster. Better to learn in starter fits than to be pissing away ISK trying to stay above water in a stripper Assault suit with a GEK. People act like the starter fits are bad, but unless you are facing a proto squad, they are not so bad that you have no chance. Well there you go thats far more constructive. |

How can you complain when CCP gives you everything you need to be competitive? NO! This is all wrong. Noobs please put all of your sp into scrambler pistols, lavs, swarms, and endurance/vigor...... then proceed to murder taxi in a militia heavy with proto sscramblers.... game over you win dust.
Um so should I be telling them to max Heavy Nova Knife builds? |
