well my stance is that do not refund Aur, only refund the Sp and Isk spent on skill books and anyone wanting more AUR is just greedy, yes greedy. if you bought and spent the AUR why do you want it back... makes no sense to me non do i really care. dev/gm please lock this before trolls get to it. btw only read the OP and don't care to make any replies to this thread. |

One more to be sure. What they say and what they do are 2 different things.
Yes CCP has said something and followed through by doing that something.
However, I believe most of the community can attest to CCP saying 1 thing and doing something else.
In some case, they may have NOT said something, and done that something anyways.
The bottom line is this:
Anything we have done to earn what we have is ENTIRELY UP TO CCP. Everything we have MAY NOT be carried over to commerical release. And WE HAVE NO RIGHT to retain anything from our characters.
Considering the "Uprising" in the community about the mercenary pack and creating a catastrophic mess,
a reset is the only solution. |

Dude. Give it a rest. You are obviously avoiding the facts. |

And WE HAVE NO RIGHT to retain anything from our characters. Considering the "Uprising" in the community about the mercenary pack and creating a catastrophic mess, a reset is the only solution. Dude. Give it a rest. You are obviously avoiding the facts. The facts are:
- CCP Eterne said "We've only said we won't reset your SP to 0. We haven't said anything about not refunding your SP and allowing you to respec. That option is still on the table prior to release if we feel it will be worthwhile."
- CCP Eterne ALSO said "Just a note, we've said we won't reset skill points to 0 (without a HUGE GIANT CURRENTLY-UNFATHOMABLE reason). There might still conceivably be a time where we reset skill point allocation." (Granted, this was an earlier post.
- CCP Eterne finally had to sticky this and say "We have been getting a lot of questions about Skill Point resets lately. In order to help everyone find this information, here is CCP's official stance on resetting skill points.
We currently have no plans to reset your characters' skill points to a state where they are equivalent to a newly created character, barring something catastrophic."
- There are numerous threads talking about wanting a merc pack refund. Many of them have concerns, many want extra Aurum, many are threatening lawsuits. You can find them here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here (this one is references the DEV sticky), and here.
Maken Tosch, I've run with you before. I like you (no-homo) and you have inspired me to run a Nova Knive class in the next build with the impressive Diary you ran about becoming a ninja kniver (knifer?). I would love to give this a rest. I also voice the same voice that Paran Tadec in that I also don't want to have to grind everything again.
However, this community has complained. It has done so to the point where I believe CCP may reach for the big red button labeled "Catastrophic". While I'm sad to see this, I believe we have forced onto CCP the one and only solution they have left.
A reset.

Honestly, I would vote for a rest now just to watch all those pubstars scream.
Seems like the best way to level the playing field before PC. Just run a wipe through, burn it all down and give us all 10 days to get our corps reformed and get to fighting.
Just make sure those of us who bought merc packs early get our couple of days head start. Oh, and our items bro. |

Run a wipe, give us a couple days to reform, allow those who have merc packs to get a couple days head start (though I would also include anyone who bought Aurum as well. Debatable on Tank package or Starter pack, but I really don't want another debate right now...).
And yes, I would like to see the items we earned as gifts from the closed beta, the items we get from the merc pack, etc. (Exile, Skinweaves, Dragonfly, etc.) |

Kaze, the "community" complains about everything.
Seriously, everything. If they reset every time there was a complaint, we wouldn't get 10 minutes into a new build.
With that said, CCP has left the door open multiple times for at least partial resets or SP reductions, so the "community" can complain all they like, but CCP could do it. May not be popular, but since joining in the beta, I've read "that's EVE" or "welcome to New Eden" at least a 1,000 times so I don't see how this is any different.
I have a few merc packs from Beta but don't really have an opinion either way. I used them, I got what I expected from them and I am satisfied. I'm not a fan boy and have never played EVE, that's just how I see it. If someone else expected something different they are welcome to try and get it and good luck to them. However, if CCP is looking for feedback, I would rather see a loss of a few experienced players in the "community" due to discontent than a total reset. The number of players impacted by a reset > the number of players dissatisfied with the merc pack problem. There are solutions without going nuclear on everyone. |
